Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

Later on Monday 25 July, one of the poor performers in respect of keeping time, JQ7, the 1115 MEL - SIN did not take off until 1517. Arrival of B788 VH-VKH is likely at 2103 tonight SIN time instead of 1650 - a deficit of 253 minutes.

The Tuesday 26 July 2016 JQ8, the 1445 DPS to MEL (B788 VH-VKA) took off at 1608; arrival is suggested as 2329, 79 minutes later than the scheduled time of 2210 hours.

Wednesday 27 July sees JQ829, the 0825 hours TSV - BNE (A320 VH-VFY) having been airborne extremely late at 1134 with arrival suggested as 1314, 184 minutes behind time.

In the evening of 27 July, JQ913, the 1520 hours TSV - SYD took off at 1623 - about 45 minutes late - but is making up a bit of time with arrival of A320 Vh-VQG suggested as 1839, 39 minutes late.

The 1700 MEL up to OOL, JQ440, took off at 1758 with arrival of A321 VH-VWY estimated at 1947, 47 minutes behind the schedule.

Further south, JQ710 that is the mid afternoon 1615 hours HBA - MEL (A320 VH-VGU) did not take off until 1753 so not unnaturally is expected at the MEL arrival gate at 1856, 86 minutes behind time.

On Thursday 28 July, JQ720 (1335 hours HBA up to SYD) was airborne at 1416. Hence A320 VH-VGY will arrive at approximately 1557, 32 minutes behind schedule.

The notoriously unpunctual JQ7 (1115 hours MEL up to SIN) is behaving true to form on Friday 29 July with wheels up at 1158 and arrival likely at 1728, 38 minutes behind time. VH-VKF is the B788.

Sunday 31 July's JQ201, the 0940 hours SYD across to AKL departed 41 minutes late with arrival estimated as the same at 1526.

It is back to significant delays for JQi with the Sunday 31 July 1450 hours JQ17 from MEL to HKT departing at about 2050 tonight, while JQ1 from MEL to HNL, the 1610 hours departure pushed back at around 1750.

On an inclement Monday 1 August in MEL, JQ164, the 0645 hours ex WLG had taken off promptly at 0655 but a slow trip sees it likely to arrive at about 0922, 42 minutes late. A320 VH-VGI is the plane.

Later, JQ735 (1025 hours MEL - LST, VH-VQF) took off at 1113 so arrival in the Apple Isle should be at around 1201, 31 minutes tardy.

JQ511 (1210 SYD down to MEL) departed 64 minutes late with arrival projected at 1440, 55 minutes late. A delay of this magnitude mid afternoon makes it hard to avoid all remaining flights operated by this aircraft being behind time.

There is a JQ1043 departing from MEL for DPS at about 2100 this evening, instead of what Melbourne Airport suggests is the normal 0915 hours so JQ43's aircraft may have failed.

Also on 1 August 2016, JQ2 from HNL is arriving MEL about 97 minutes late at 1607. Aircraft is B788 VH-VKE.

JQ18, the 0945 hours MEL arrival ex HKT arrived at about 1500.

JQ564, the 1335 hours from MEL to BNE took off at 1435 and so will arrive at 1631, 46 minutes behind time with A320 VH-VQF. Both these flights (HNL and HKT) had been significantly delayed on their outbound journeys from MEL.

Amended flight JQ1035 on Tuesday 2 August 2016 from MEL to DPS departed about an hour and a quarter late at around the 1730 mark.

On Thursday 4 August, JQ201, the 0940 hours from SYD across to AKL has been cancelled. JQ506 and JQ514, the 0915 and 1520 hours respectively MEL - SYD are also not running.

JQ946, the 1025 MEL - CNS did not depart until 1226 and hence arrived at about 1540, 115 minutes behind time.

UPDATE: Much later on 4 August, JQ678, the 2130 hours MEL up to DRW did not take off until 2236. Arrival of A320 VH-VGD should be about 61 minutes late at the unseemly hour of 0226.

JQ961, the PER - MEL scheduled arrival at 2335 on Thursday will instead arrive at 0022 on Friday 5 August: conveyance is A320 VH-VGZ.

The 1905 hours ADL - DPS (Thursday 4 August, A320 VH-VFU) was airborne at 2019 so it should arrive at about 2358 hours, 73 minutes behind time.

JQ 7 MEL-SIN showing as cancelled today. Any indication as to why? My boss is supposed to be on it. Hope it doesnt mean I will see him Monday Morning LOL

On Sunday 7 August, JQ503 (0700 SYD - MEL) was also cancelled.

JQ12 (NRT - OOL) has diverted to GUM with one engine being shut down due to problems with oil pressure indicated by a warning light. Apparently the 320 passengers will arrive in OOL early on Monday 8 August. JQ is denying it was an 'emergency' landing and instead calling it a 'priority' one. Semantics, perhaps.

If an engine is shut down in a twin, then it's an emergency. In a quad it's a nuisance.

I'll bet there's not one 'warning light' in a 787 coughpit. EICAS.

Update : Boss and wife were travelling star class on JQ fortunately they were transferred over to QF35. Thinking they got a good deal with suites versus recliners.

Best part is I wont be seeing him today or for the next 2 weeks LOL.

Monday 8 August sees JQ773, the 1130 hours ADL across to MEL having been airborne at 1230 with A320 VH-VFV arriving at about 1406, 41 minutes behind time.

VH-VKK still stuck in GUM it appears - so presumably will be some rolling issues with JQi

Pax are now back in OOL, after VH-VKF was diverted to GUM after operating JQ25 CNS-NRT to pick up the pax.
Not sure what was cancelled out of NRT
