Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

VH-VKK still stuck in GUM it appears - so presumably will be some rolling issues with JQi

Pax are now back in OOL, after VH-VKF was diverted to GUM after operating JQ25 CNS-NRT to pick up the pax.
Not sure what was cancelled out of NRT
JQ 12 was cancelled last night.

On Monday 8 August, JQ569, the 1515 hours arrival in MEL ex BNE and JQ710, the 1730 hours arrival also in MEL ex HBA have been cancelled.

JQ570 (1745 hours MEL - BNE) has also got the chop.

The 2040 hours MEL - ADL (A320 VH-VFU, JQ776) took off at 2121 so arrival should be at around the 2210 hours mark, 40 minutes behind schedule.

Tuesday 9 August sees JQ506, the 0915 hours MEL - SYD not having taken off until 1019. Arrival of A320 Vh-VFN is suggested as 46 minutes behind schedul at 1126.

On Thursday 11 August, JQ38, the 2235 hours DPS - SYD (B788 VH-VKI) was not in the sky until 0147 (Thursday). Hence it should arrive at roughly 0854, 159 minutes tardy.

JQ3 SYD-HNL cancelled today, presumably flow on effects from VH-VKK which still seems stuck in GUM
(I'm watching carefully as I'm on JQ3 Fri)

Appears that some pax have been pushed back a day as the seat map has filled up substantially

And looks like JQ7 MEL- SIN cancelled 12/8 with the aircraft operating instead as JQ7991 to SYD to take up JQ3

Another flow on appears to be that JQ17, the 1450 hours mid afternoon Friday 12 August 2016 MEL - HKT will instead depart at a projected 1845 this evening. Its return from HKT will be delayed but probably not sufficiently for an airline to give passengers a night in an hotel: instead, an uncomfortable longer than originally anticipated wait at the airport beckons for those without lounge access.

The 1730 hours MCY - MEL, JQ797, took off at 1828 (A320 VH-VFK) with arrival likely at 2057, 57 minutes late.

JQ790 from SYD up to MCY is similarly about 50 minutes delayed.

I'm unfamiliar with Jetstar Asia ops, but appears to be a repositioning occurring with A320 JQ8997 departing MEL at an antisocial 0119 AEST this morning, headed for Seletar airfield (Singapore) via DRW. Not to be confused with the similarly antisocial scheduled JQ678/3K 162 combination MEL -SIN (Changi) via DRW, which is also operating this morning.

If it's going to Seletar, it's probably getting into some sort of a workshop.

JQ7, the 1115 MEL to SIN is again in trouble on Sunday 14 August with takeoff at 1231. Arrival should be at around 1755, 65 minutes late. Aircraft is B788 VH-VKE.

JQ515, the 1345 hours SYD down to MEL is expected to depart an hour late.

The Sunday 14 August 2016 JQ1 (1600 hours MEL - HNL) has been cancelled, so presumably JQ2 is also not running.

JQ sure has many problems with its JQi scheduled flights. A good airline to avoid, but each to his or her own.

Domestically, JQ720, the 1335 early afternoon from HBA up to SYD did not take off until 1602 so arrival of A320 VH-VFY is predicted to be around 1743, 138 minutes late.

On Monday 15 August, JQ37, the 1640 hours latish afternoon from SYD to DPS (B788 VH-VKD) was only commencing its taxi at around 1926, so arrival in Bali should be close to midnight compared with the schedule of 2105 hours. Assuming that this aircraft forms JQ38, the 2235 hours overnight DPS back to SYD, it will be rather more delayed than what Google claims is '25 minutes.'

Monday, 15 August, JQ33 HKT to SYD departed 0340 (0150 Scheduled). Pilot advised us they were "waiting on engineering paperwork to be faxed" and "translation issues" between thai engineers and head office". The crew were fantastic though, doing beverage services throughout the delay.

robtemt, thank you: that explains at least some of the delay to this afternoon's (Monday 15 August's) JQ37.

The 1925 hours SYD to BNE, JQ820 (A320 VH-VFU) , was only taxiing at 2005 so is likely to be about half an hour late.

The JFi woes continue with a relatively minor delay to JQ1, the timetabled 1610 hours MEL to HNL on Tuesday 16 August having been revised to a predicted 1710 departure.

There is a more significat delay expected to JQ43, the Wednesday 17 August 0915 hours from MEL to DPS that is not predicted to depart until late afternoon - 1715 hours.

In post number 736, I mentioned how B788 VH-VKK had diverted to GUM due to an engine having to be shut down in flight.

10 days later - a lengthy period - JQ8994 (on Wednesday 17 August) departed from GUM at 1534 and looks to be arriving in MEL at about 2243 hours tonight, presumably allowing normality to be returned to the JQi schedules that as noted in posts after number 736 have had quite a bit of disruption.

Did the engine manufacturer or JQ contracted maintainer have to fly in LAMEs to GUM to swap over an engine or repair it?

Also on Wednesday 17 August, JQ917, the very late night 2350 hours arrival in MEL ex TSV should arrive at around 0145 hours on Thursday 18.
