Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

In a further delay on what has been an unimpressive Wednesday 26 July for timekeeping, JQ959 (1800 hours CNS - SYD, 220 seat A321 VH-VWU that was airborne at 1927 hours) should arrive 64 minutes late at 2159 hours.

Interestingly, this A321 has been undertaking two daily return SYD - CNS trips each day since 22 July without a break (except overnight) for attention.

Later on Thursday 27 July, JQ438 (1405 hours MEL - OOL that took off at 1521) should arrive at 1709 hours, 64 late. Aircraft is A320 VH-VFQ.

JQ606 (1545 AVV up to SYD, which took off at 1645) should arrive at 1807, 57 minutes late (A320 VH-VQW.)

JQ424 (1740 hours SYD - OOL that took off at 1832, VH-VQU - A320) should pull in to its allocated tarmac space at 1938, 38 late.

Friday 28 July sees the first leg of a flight that should end eventually in KIX, JQ15 from MEL to CNS (B788 VKE, the 0720 hours that did not take off until 0836) likely to arrive in Far North Queensland at 1153, 73 minutes late. Since the second leg from CNS up to KIX is not timetabled to depart until 1300 this afternoon, it could be only 15 - 20 minutes late departing if all goes well.

JQ7 (1110 hours MEL - SIN with B788 VH-VKJ) took off at 1213 so arrival is predicted as 1755, 65 late.

In further on Friday 28 July, JQ974 (1520 hours from ADL across to PER, A320 VH-VFT) that took off at 1606 hours should arrive at 1815, an hour late.

The Saturday 29 July JQ502 (scheduled 0735 MEL - SYD, A320 VH-VFO) had a delayed start to its morning with takeoff at 0910; arrival should be at 1017 hours, 77 minutes tardy.

B788 VH-VKF on JQ58 (0810 hours BNE down to MEL) did not take off until 0859 so arrival at the international terminal is suggested as 1121, 46 late. This flight originates in DPS and had been less than half an hour late taking off last night.

JQ127 (A320 VH-VFT, the 0755 hours ADL - DPS) was airborne at 0825 and should arrive at 1208 hours, 43 minutes tardy.

A320 VH-VGF on JQ604, the 1240 hours AVV up to SYD took off at about 1320 hours on Saturday 29 July; arrival is predicted at 1442 this afternoon, 37 late.

As a side issue, wind gusts at MEL were as high as 104kmh at 1100 but have since slightly moderated to 85 - 93kmh. Wind is from the north.

Later on 29 July, JQ35 (1745 hours MEL up to DPS, B788 Vh-VKI) took off at 1842. Predicted arrival is 52 late at 2237 hours late this evening local time.

JQ515 (Sunday 30 July 1350 hours SYD - MEL that was airborne at 1449, A320 VH-VFP) should arrive at 1559 hours, 34 late. After arriving on JQ504 this morning eight minutes early at 0942, it spent a long period in SYD between flights, showing the slack demand at present but maybe also becoming a 'victim' of the alleged long lines at security commencing today with the 'increased screening.'

If 20 passengers had not boarded within the stipulated time and they were all groups of 1.2 or 3, that would tell the gate staff that something was amiss. Hence JQ may well have held the plane.

Monday 31 July has JQ502 (0735 hours MEL - SYD, A320 VH-VGJ) having not taken off until 0823: arrival should be at 0935 hours, 35 late.

Later on 31 July, JQ564 (1350 hours MEL - BNE that did not take off until 1515 mid afternoon) should be 73 minutes late arriving at 1713 hours. Aircraft is A320 VH-VQJ.

On Monday 31 July's evening, JQ988 (2030 hours SYD across to PER that was in the sky at 2116, A320 VH-VQC) is estimated to arrive at 0019 on Tuesday 1 August, 44 minutes late.

JQ501 (Tuesday 1 August first of the morning's SYD - MEL at a scheduled 0605) did not become airborne until 0659, so arrival has become an estimated 0820 hours, 40 late. Aircraft is A320 VH-VQU that appears to have as its next flight JQ664, the 0930 hours MEL to AYQ, so that should depart punctually.

JQ506, the 0915 hours MEL - SYD and JQ503 (0700 hours SYD - MEL) have been cancelled.

The 0615 hours CHC - MEL (A320 VH-VFP, JQ172) was not airborne until 0717 so arrival is estimated at 0854 hours, 54 minutes behind the eight ball.

JQ510 (1040 hours MEL - SYD, A321 VH-VWY) was airborne at 1118; arrival should be at 1242 hours, 37 late.

Fog in Melbourne on Wednesday 2 August resulted in two VA flights (one each from HBA and CBR) having missed approaches at about 0730 hours.

As at 0745, all domestic departures seem to be taking off to the west. JQ780 (A320 VH-VGI), the 0655 hours MEL - ADL) did not take off until about 0749.

JQ473 (0610 hours NTL down to MEL that was airborne at 0634, A320 VH-VFX) was held above Mt Buller (Vic) but was arriving at about 0834, 44 minutes late.

A320 VH-VFU on the 0730 hours MEL up to PPP, JQ832, took off at 0833. Arrival is suggested as 1126 hours, 61 minutes late.

The 0735 hours MEL - SYD, JQ502 (A320 VH-VQA) was airborne at 0841 so arrival will be about 50 minutes late at 0950.

JQ560, the 0730 hours MEL up to BNE (A321 VH-VWX) took off at 0844 hours so arrival should be about 50 minutes late at 1030.

Having been foggy, delays are continuing into and out of MEL on Wednesday 2 August's morning.

JQ503 (0700 hours SYD - MEL) was not airborne until 0836, so arrival will not take place until at least 1002 hours, 87 minutes late.

JQ605 (0755 hours SYD - AVV, A320 VH-VQW) took off at 0838 so arrival is predicted as 1000, half an hour behind schedule.

The 0830 hours MEL - HBA< JQ705 (A320 VH-VFX) was still in quite a lengthy queue for departure to the west as at 0939 hours.

Alo on Thursday 3 August, JQ824 (A320 VH-VGN, the 1055 hours lateish morning SYD - BNE that was in the sky at 1155) should arrive at 1314 hours, 49 minutes tardy.

JQ2, the scheduled 1600 hours arrival in MEL (ex HNL) has been cancelled.

The 1820 hours SYD - MEL (JQ523, A321 VH-VWU) took off at 1914 and is arriving at 2044, 49 minutes late. This will delay JQ713 (the 2035 hours MEL down to HBA) until at least a 2120 hours departure. The following JQ525, the 1905 hours that was in the sky at 1945 with VH-VQA should be in at 2117, 37 late as with the wettish weather in MEL there have been a few aircraft holding (including it) in the usual spot above Mt Buller, Vic.

The NTL - MEL JQ479 has its usual A320, this time VH-VGJ and should arrive at 2104, 54 minutes late.
