Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

JQ36, Tuesday 26 June 2018's scheduled 2315 hours from DPS down to MEL (B788 VH_VKI) did not become airborne until 0204 on Wednesday 27 June. Arrival should be at 0902 hours, 142 minutes late.

On a foggy Thursday 28 June 2018 mornming in MEL, JQ946, the scheduled 1020 hours MEL - CNS with A320 VH-VGQ took off at 1120 so will be more than half an hour late into the FNQ unofficial capital (sorry, TSV.)

Southbound A320 VH-VQA on JQ507, the scheduled 0825 hours SYD down to MEL was airborne at 0949 and as with many ot6her flights was in a hold over both the NSW Snowys and then Victoria's Mt Buller, so arrival is estimated as 1137 hours, 97 late.

In further on a foggy Thursday 28 June 2018 in Melbourne, JQ505 ex SYD (VH-VQG) should arrive at about 1302, 67 late. This plane was in a hold above Mt Buller for a few circuits.

Another A320 VH-VGZ but on JQ793, the 0945 hours morning MCY - MEL that took off at 1007 less than 10 minutes late was in holding patterns above Tocumwal and then Bendigo, so arrival at 1256 will be 41 late.

Delays that can be traced back to today's earlier fog affected MEL continue on the early evening of Thursday 28 June 2018 with JQ521, the 1600 hours SYD down to MEL that took off at 1743 hours with A321 VH-VWX likely to arrive at 1902 hours, 87 minutes late.

Various Australia - DPS flights are returning to their points of origin such as SYD or MEL due to Mt Agung having again erupted in the afternoon of Thursday 28 June.

JQ503, the Friday 29 June 2018 scheduled 0700 hours SYD down to MEL (A320 VH-VFD) is having to do a dogleg due to congestion approaching the southern capital (not unusual at 0830 hours later in most weeks.) Arrival is predicted as 0918 hours, 43 minutes late.

Fog in Brisbane has led to many delays with JQ929 (A320 VH-VGR), first of the morning at 0600 from CNS down to BNE not becoming airborne until 0850 hours. Arrival should be at 1108 hours, 178 minutes late.

In further on Friday 29 June, JQ678. the 2125 hours MEL - DRW (A321 VH-VWU) took off at 2207 so anticipated arrival on Saturday 30 at 0150 will be 40 minutes tardy.

Later on 30 June, JQ7002 (B788 VH-VKL) is en route from DPS to MEL. It is head of JQ44, the normal afternoon offering that has VH-VKG and which is expected into MEL at 2313, 58 late.

Is 'the 7002' carrying a backlog of volcano eruption-affected passengers, or just an empty (ferry) flight?

JQ58, the 1245 hours DPS - BNE took off at a much delayed 1619 so arrival for VH-VKG should be 186 late at 2316 late tonight.

Later on Monday 2 July, B788 VH-VKD on JQ35, the 1745 hours second of the 'double daillies' from MEL to DPS took off at 1904. Arrival is expected at 2247 tonight, 62 late.

Unlike Monday 2 July, the Tuesday 3 July JQ772 (1025 hours MEL - ADL) was not cancelled, but as strong winds up to 50kmh have been the case, it did not take off until 1121 hours. Arrival should be 1159, 44 late for A320 Vh-VGJ.

JQ510 (1045 hours mid morning MEL up to SYD, A320 VH-JQL) was airborne at 1132 hours so arrival is forecast for 1241 hours, 31 late.

JQ562 (1040 MEL - BNE) was in the sky shortly after at 1133 hours, so VH-VFI should be 42 late in arriving at 1332.

The 1020 hours SYD down to MEL, JQ505 (VH-VFD) was in the sky at 1132 so will not arrive until 1252 hours, 57 late.

A320 VH-VFY, the 1210 MEL up to NTL was airborne at 1311, about 45 late. Predicted arrival is 1429 hours, 49 late.

JQ794, the 3 July 1645 hours late afternoon MEL up to MCY was airborne at 1734 so arrival is likely at 1939 tonight, 39 late for A320 VH-VFI.

JQ444, the 1600 hours MEL - OOL made it into the sky at 1705. Arrival is expected at 1848, 48 late. Aircraft is A321 VH-VWZ.

Also on 3 July 2018, JQ988 (A320 VH-VFN) is winging its way from SYD to PER after taking off at 2107. Arrival should be at 2342 hours, 37 late.

Winds gusting to 56kmh at MEL on Wednesday 4 July morning do not seem to be causing many delays, but JQ471, the scheduled 0615 hours MEL - NTL is an exception. A320 VH-VQA took off at 0716 so arrival is estimated as 0825 hours, 40 late.

JQ1 (Wednesday 4 July 1545 hours MEL - HNL that took off at 1801) should arrive 97 late at 1852 hours, same day, with B788 VH-VKF. The plane had arrived 32 late at 1527 this afternoon on JQ2 ex HNL, so given that this was timetabled in at 1455, it must be substituting for another defective B788.

It's also a fairly slow turnaround for a JQi B788. Maybe it needed a little attention.

This aircraft, VKF, looks like it was meant to be JQ35, the 1745 hours MEL up to DPS that should depart at about 1930 hours tonight.

The 1735 hours late afternoon MEL up to BNE, JQ576 (A320 VH-VFO) was in the sky at 1816, about 25 late with arrival suggested as 2019 hours, 34 late.
