Call me an old cynic.. but I find it difficult to be as charitable as others here about thet legroom photo...

Look at the pocket etc on his jeans! Clearly well "scooched" forward... then look at the legs of the person next to him....or were they 4' 2"??

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.......................

Well, you old cynic, I totally totally apologise to you and all others here who are annoyed, that I was 'scooched' forward in my seat. I am very sorry , ok?

As for the thongs and singlet brigade, you are coming back from a cheap bogan tourist destination.

It's not the Maldives or Tahiti!

This is me in seat 2A after being bumped from Row 1A due to pax requiring bassinet holds;-

Leg room isn't too bad but I'm a short fella with shorter legs

But with Seat 1A in fully recline position, it was impossible to get out of my window seat. I didn't have a measuring tape so I used a water bottle as a reference (see picture - it tells 1,000 words)

Thanks, all that time I had thought I was in Tahiti.

Since you wanted to have some more information:

1. You are traveling Jetstar.
2. Complaining about the clothing of the other people in the lounge.
3. Traveling to a high leisure destination, known for its cheap deals and then complaining about thongs and singlets.
4. Sloching forward in the seat and then claming there is no legroom in *class
5. Refer to 1.

The post above mine with the accurate pic says it all

The best part of the trip report is this bit

"I was disappointed at the leg room, being only marginally better than Thai or Singapore economy class."

What Thai or Singapore economy seats have legroom at or near 38inches ?

I have flown *class SYD-HKT a couple of times and the product is good for the price.

Exactly! It is a PREMIUM ECONOMY product.

At standard prices
Melbourne - Bangkok
Jetstar Star Class
$1690

Thai
Business Class
$3700+

Again slouching forward in the seat and then saying there is no legroom

This is where I think Jetstar makes it a bit hard for itself in promoting it as Business Class. Maybe comparable to a domestic business class, but certainly not what has come to be expected of international business class.

I have flown StarClass and I find it to be quite good. I certainly wasn't disappointed, but then, maybe my expectations were not that high .....

Yes and at discounted prices it's hard to pass up Starclass on leisure routes. In two weeks we are flying SYD-HKT in Starclass and we paid around $700 per ticket (one way). The return BKK-SYD in QF whY (not full Y) was around $500 per ticket, plus taxes. Now unless our upgrades clear on QF I will probably be thinking quite fondly of the time spent in Starclass while I'm squashed in back in whY...

I don't know, all this talk that starclass is really a premium economy product. It is business ;) - and I am sure most would want to keep it that way .... isn't it rather good that you can earn J class SC's on a Y+ service at Y+ prices?

Are you sure that you didn't push back in the seat to get these pictures?

well, i just did a report as i saw it.... perhaps I would have been better off not posting it, based on the feedback received. Will remember that for the future in this forum.

I just want to know where to find the 38inch pitch in Y on Thai and Singapore please! :p

I said its marginally better... and thats all it is, yes your knees are not up against the seat in front of you, but its a nightmare for someone to get out from the seat beside you, and virtually impossible if you are eating.

The seating is fairly similar to Domestic J class on QF, and yes, it can be a bit of a climb over the person in the aisle seat, if you need to get out of the window seat.
