Jetstar Starclass - Bangkok to Melbourne w/pics

I used *class to HNL return and was quite impressed. I knew that it wasn't going to be QF J and the price reflected that. I think its all about expectations before you get on-board.

I would do *class again.

Thanks for sharing! *class does look like an excellent way of racking up some SCs at a reasonable cost so long as you know what you're in for. :) I mean, one would only get full whY SCs flying BA WTP, or QF PE which costs a fair bit more albeit with a higher level of amenities.

QP BKK running out of bubbles is rather poor though!

Rather than being thanked for his effort, I think the OP has been unfairly attacked by several individuals here for taking the time and effort to share his TR. You're welcome to challenge anything presented in any TR that you disagree with, but to effectively accuse someone of "faking" stuff is rather harsh and uncalled for.

I don't know, all this talk that starclass is really a premium economy product. It is business ;) - and I am sure most would want to keep it that way .... isn't it rather good that you can earn J class SC's on a Y+ service at Y+ prices?

I agree! :D

Firstly slouching forward in the seat - To which was later admitted

Saying that *class only has marginally better leg room than Thai or Singapore Y.

I don't call "marginal" 5-7 inches more legroom

well, i just did a report as i saw it.... perhaps I would have been better off not posting it, based on the feedback received. Will remember that for the future in this forum.

Thanks for the TR. Very interesting and good photos.

Remember - it is only an internet forum, don't let people stir you up.

It's not like I was deliberately slouching forward in the seat in a deliberate attempt to try and make starclass look like a worse product!!

Thai operate 772Er to MEL with 34" pitch.

dazz81,

Keep posting the reports.

Whether some people do or don't like the report is their problem. It is far more interesting and detailed than the reports by most of the detractors. Oops, they don't write reports do they :!:

IMHO, the comparison with SQ probably devalues the OP's statement, as they only have 31-32" seat pitch.

However, it is probably not unreasonable to compare it to TG with their 34" pitch. I have flown QF dom J (which is what I understand the JQ *class product is) and TG 772er. If you couple the rather generous 34" pitch on TG, with the seats having limited recline (as the seat base does come forward as you recline, similar to the new CX seats, although the TG seats still do recline somewhat), I can fully understand why the leg room might seem comparable to TG Y (especially if the star class seat in front of you is fully reclined). Not a load of rubbish as many imply.

Absolutely. It is Jetstar's business.

Dazz I have looked closely at the photos and there is an obvious explanation. There are those like Alanslegal and QF009 that bend forward as they like to get the ultimate foot shot. Then there are those like you and me that lean back to widen the field of vision to try and get a bit more perspective.
On top of that if you look at Alanslegal's photo with the seat in front reclined it looks a lot like your photo.
I certainly hope we dont go down the personal attack track as you sometimes see on the FT Aadvantage forums. We are all different, have different life experiences so see things slightly differently from one another.it is that which makes this site so valuable.
So dazz keep it up mate.

Well done Dazz, a fine report & good photos! I must check my posture after a few beers :p

Thanks for the report.
I'm feeling the pressure to write up my starclass trip.

Do you know what that white vegetable with the holes is from the meal?

Cheers, good report, and I like the pics, always good as a reference point.
