2,500 worth of, I assume, survey points have lobbed into my account.

Absolute magic having an account I can log into :)

Ta..

Just checked my mine and my wifes..and are both in.

We now have 16500 and 25500 earnt with no cost involved...and hopefelly another 2000 points each to post by Oct 31 :).

I wish all FF programs were this generous!!!

Attaching my query onto this thread...will make a new one if required.

Been trying to get a comp to BMI DC Gold, but have had no replies to my emails. (using [email protected])

Has anyone asked for a comp and succeeded?

What was the process?

Yes people do....If you go to the BMI area on Flyertalk there is a Stickie on FAQ's including that one.

A friend has just matched to BD*G using BA Gold status, took all of 3 days.

What time frame for his membership did they give him for the match?

Just wondering if I dont make EXP (or don't forecast to make EXP) and have some SQ fligths planned - how long I could stretch *G status to...

I must be doing something wrong. I have not even received an email indicating they have received my email.

Time to pick up the phone

Been lurking for a while here and felt compelled to join up.
The 2000 point offer for updating email could possibly be a "phishing" scam.

Take a close look at the website, anyone could set up something like that.
Now they only ask for email and DC number (no passwords) so the damage will be limited.

It's nice to get enthusiastic about maximising your mileage/points earning but just be careful with sites that have a different domain name to the airline. Think before you type!

Welcome to AFF !

Your caution is very appropriate - its very easy to get carried away when seeing a link in a generally trustworthy forum as this.

In this case the domain is registered to a web production company (Sticky Moon) that is used by BMI. I considered the details requested to be low risk and besides, the points have already credited to my DC account.

Richard.

Welcome to AFF mumbles. Definitely some food for thought, but generally in the airline industry marketing activities are outsourced so not as huge a concern.

Ta....but it is also over at Flyetalk where they report getting postcards. Unfortunately the T&C on those postcards may mean that we don't get the 2000, but I am just hoping that they don't actually ckeck.

Besides my BMI account has been gained entirely with free points by online promos which I have used a dummy email address for and not my main one. So I can't see it as a real risk...for if I had not done it I would not have the 40K points that I currently have.;)

You'd get 12 months from when they make you *G. BMI dc operates on membership anniversary basis. You then only need 38k status miles to retain *G.

Welcome, mumbles. :D

Similar concerns were sparked on another forum I go to. It was then revealed that Sticky Moon, the organisation that created the site, is actually a marketing agency of BMI. So an entirely legit operation. :)

Got the postcard. Funny that it should be postmarked from New Zealand!

My partner did not get a postcard though, so don't know how that works.

Ok folks, I stand corrected!

2000 miles for updating your email is a pretty good deal.
(considering I flew BMI from London to the Med return a few weeks ago and got a measly 1000 miles...)

37 500 miles + GBP255 cash + GBP243.20 tax/YQ:
AMS-ZRH LX C
ZRH-HKG LX C (stop)
HKG-SIN SQ F
SIN-MEL SQ F

The AUD/GBP is brutal atm, but I made a profit on the awards to South America and back that I'd cancelled so all good. Was tempted to go full miles (75 000) to save the GBP255 cash component but I'd promised to take a special someone on a trip to Asia. :)

Plenty of LH F availabilty via FRA but alas no C+M for LH F and as much as I like the FCT and LH F, 100k miles is a bit dear.
