QF009 was using the free miles from his family's accounts to redeem in his name.

Also, you have to fly on a BMI flight now to get the miles.

Oh, I see. The bit about the named recipient...

Who needs multiple account when they regularly give 2500 points for a survey.

The candy stealing ALMOST continues!

Two people in business: MEL-SIN-NRT-LAX-OGG.

All for 18750 points and GBP127.50 each. Stopover in SIN and a good time will be had by all.

BUT- taxes of GBP405 each! That equals GBP532 or AUD1313 * 2 = AUD2626. With the AUD doing some pretty ordinary activities at the moment this is way outside my budget. I don't quite know what I expected tax wise but obviously not this much.

Whilst I realise that a J seat is way more than this and it is still a bargin trip in J to the USA I can't quite strech it. So anyway, lesson is that you can get to the USA and have stopover BUT the taxes are steep.

As a comparison I looked at a dummy QF booking. MEL-NRT-LAX-HNL in June 2009. Using the highest class of travel available and came up with AUD229. This is on QF and AA.

Oh well back to the drawing board.

If you've got enough miles I reckon full miles is still a good value option. Offsets the cash somewhat.

To bring down the YQ, try doing NZ.

Thanks QF009.

In a continuation from my previous post I have found a route involving less stops with SYD-ICN-LAX-OGG with OZ all in J. Hopefully this should bring the taxes down.

Anyone flown with Asiana before? The seats and service look pretty good.

ps. I can't use it but 13 July 09 has two F seats on the A380 available as of now on the QF classic award site. 192,000 points each one way JFK-MEL. 744 to Lax, 388 to MEL.

I 'updated' but not so sure I will get any points:

This offer is only available to Diamond Club members who received postal notification to update their Diamond Club account details and is non transferable.

But if I do, 2000 points for 30 seconds work is a good deal :)

Hi there

I got this in response :

"Thank you for submitting your updated details. You will shortly receive a validation email request to the email address that you have just provided. You will need to click on the link in this validation email in order for your 2,000 bonus destinations miles to be credited to your Diamond Club account.
Your 2,000 bonus destinations miles will only be added to your Diamond Club account by 31 October 2008 if you have confirmed your email address via the validation email."

Didn't get a postal notification though

That was my experience also. Maybe it was stated somewhere else, before you submit?

'tis in the T&C's underneath the form. I still wenth through the process, just commenting that given that condition, they may not appear (but then give my experience at interacting with BMI IT systems, anything is possible)

Agreed!

And figured that was the case, I was just too lazy to go and look!:lol:

Using the link in this thread I updated the email details for my wife and I.
Checking the email accounts straight afterwards the confirming email was there. Clicked on the embedded link to confirm.

Just hope the 2000 points each post now.....

OK - done and done - I just suspect that the points wont credit - you never know though...

Everyone gets that email I think - I just dont think that you will get the points automatically if not targetted. I am not expecting any points from this.

Nor am I, but given it was hardly an onerous exercise I gave it a shot just in case they do!

2,500 worth of, I assume, survey points have lobbed into my account.

Absolute magic having an account I can log into :)
