KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes

Is it possible to change an existing points booking to take advantage of the lower Spontaneous Escapes Promo rates?
For example, if I have a Frankfurt to JFK J booking already, could I "change" the booking to the Promo rate on the same day (provided there is availability of course) so that I could save a few miles?
I would have to pay the $25 USD for change of award type and $75 for redeposit of miles but otherwise, is that possible?
In essence, I would be "buying back" the discounted 24300 KF miles at $100 USD which isn't too bad.

Nothing to/from OZ in this months list.

The blackout is early January. Jag a late Jan trip, and maybe book the return when the Feb ones come out in mid Jan :)

Sad they are still so limited. Not so bad for me, I still have to book the HBA leg to departure point separately anyways.

It's nice of them, but I would prefer if they opened up some availability going the other way, around that time there's basically nothing that I can find, even at advantage levels!

I'm flying from Singapore to Australia in mid-January, and even when I booked ~2 months ago, there was nothing at all on SQ, QF or JQ using points. Most flights appear to be very, very full. (I ended up booking BA Y SIN-SYD with QF points as it's all I could find.)

Yep I've been watching for a while and hoping something might open. I have seen some cmb-mel, del-mel, kul-per and tpe-bne, on very limited dates, in any class.

Not much available for Oz this iteration (both depart SIN 1am'ish)

Even slimmer pickings for December, unsurprisingly.
Yes- literally everything is on waitlist from Melb. Normally, there would be few sporadic days open both in saver/advantage but just nothing in even early Dec 23. First also looks waitlisted. Also nothing from Adelaide. Availability was never this sparse on KF!!!

Just realised you were on about Dec 22, but Dec 23 looks no better!!!

If you book as soon as the dates open up there is availability but it goes quickly. I managed to get 2 savers back from Frankfurt mid Jan but even in the day I was mucking around making a decision my preferred flight (from London) got snapped up and I saw a number of dates become waitlist only..

Back to nothing to/from OZ for April.

I wasn't ware there was a SQ FRA/JFK service.
