Lack of curtains separating Business and Economy on 737

I have seen this happen on numerous occasions on the A380.
It drives me mad to be in a queue after breakfast to get changed and someone comes out after a lengthy spell holding J amenities and PJs and saunters back upstairs. Even worse when the pax in front of you in the queue are from J.
It’s an absolute joke.
If I’m upstairs in the A380 I never go and use the F toilets.
I don’t know what makes them think they are entitled to do this ?
Tell them to bu**er off!

A simple magnetic rope on the a380 stairs - similar to VA’s 737 set up - could solve this problem. Some other airlines already do this.

Au contraire.
Ive been the A380 a couple of times in J when I was explicitly allowed FLoo access.

Access to other cabins are in the gift of the FA/CSM and are usually given for "operational" reasons. In my case one FLoo visit was because I had a severe case of Droopy J (they must have felt sorry for me), and in another case one of the JLoos was out of action. In my case, x2 entitlements created by the FA/CSM - think of it as an Op-Up to the FLoos, not at all different to an Op-Up to an FSeat which I have also experienced.

Hey if airlines can Op-Down, then can also Op-Up

Some examples of Op-Up which may cause people to feel aggrieved:
To Seat, different cabin, exit row, bulkhead
Higher cabin Jim Jams
Higher cabin Plonk/food
And to this we should add Loos

Speaking of J class using Y lavs… on out MEL-SYD a few weeks ago a J class pax decided to use Y class… then got caught behind the service carts and expected all the crew to move everything to accommodate their passage back to J. The head cabin crew asked ‘why did you have to go down here’ to which the reply was ‘I was just going for a walk’.

It was a one hour flight! And caused disruption to the 200+ people in the main cabin.
 
Probably too many Y pax queuing for J loos and Y loos the only ones available.

The lounge is a great place to go if your 1yo is refusing to sleep on a 14 hour F flight 🙈

Sadly, magnetic ropes, stop no one. On the 737 it may work as a deterrent because there are other passengers nearby and crew right in front of it. On the A380 that forward area is mostly unsupervised, so rope or not, it won't stop people.

The QF 380 did have a magnetic leather strap at one point (made from same material as the red couch), needless to say spent more time putting it back, from just how often people disconnected it.

Don't they bring the lounge and bar to you in F ?
 
Same as the people in rows 25+ that are told to board via rear stairs but they use the front stairs and push their way all the way to the back. :rolleyes:
OT - UL does this very well. There is a staff that stands a few meters before the front stairs and divert pax based on the seat numbers

One of the perks flying F is only sharing the toilet ( which of course doubles as a change area) with a dozen other people! I get it!!!

Nothing justifies J pax using the F toilets. However, QF have to an extent, created this problem themselves by a lack of J toilets. It's ridiculous how few there are for so many pax given the fares charged.
Agree! They need more toilets and a changing area in Business and First!

Business is usually marketed as a separate, private cabin. Qantas’ marketing for example says:

[Business is] A superior way to fly. For work or play, explore Business with more space to relax, a dedicated cabin, the freshest seasonal ingredients in the sky, lounge access and our friendly cabin crew ready to look after you.​

There are placards on the cabin dividers to the effect that business class passengers only are permitted forward, except in an emergency.
 
2x Domestic QF sectors on 737's. Both flights they made announcements for passengers in rows 4+ to use the two toilets in the back. One passenger did try to use the front on one flight and the FA in the front Galley politely pointed him towards the rear. She must've remembers each passenger in the J seats I suppose?
