Last 717 service

That's been known for a while.. a few folks booked in it.
Not cheap now last I looked.

Currently $552 for a flex fare on the last flight!

One minor correction to your newsletter article Matt @AFF Editor … the 717 wasn’t the first QantasLink aircraft to offer J class. That honour belongs to the BAe 146-100 (and the -200/-300s that followed) that operated QFLink flights before the 717 came online in the fleet. Very nice Business Class albeit a very slow aircraft!

Slightly off the topic, but does anybody know when Qantaslink will update the fleet of F100 planes - they are older than the 717s

Currently sitting in the lounge at CBR and they've just announced that this morning's CBR-SYD 717 flight is cancelled (after initially announcing a delay). All passengers rebooked on the 737 running 20 minutes before it.

As nice as the 717s were, this kind of thing is why I stopped booking them (where I had a choice) some years ago.

26 October:
Doubt there will be a special event for the last flight out of LST tomorrow even though the AGM is in Tasmania today

YQW had a compressor stall out of Canberra this morning, so YQS now has the honours of doing the last flights.

I was just on Mt Ainslie in Canberra (completely unrelated), and just happened to spot a water cannon salute at the airport. I didn't quite manage to whip out my camera at the perfect time, but this is what I managed to capture, seconds after it passed through

pure coincidence/luck that I managed to witness this

So what happened to all the Pilots? The A220 fleet is tiny compared to the 717 fleet.

Are they just waiting around for the A220 or have they gone to other parts in the group, ie Mainline Qantas?

Sad to see the last bird finish up but the new A220 is really nice (though less fun on takeoff I agree with other posts). It’s quiet, seats are comfortable and the IFE is a nice addition. I flew another Max 8 last week and I couldn’t believe how hard the seats were, luckily the A220 has gone with comfy Y seats.
