LATAM status match $80USD

I'd say LATAM should make that much clearer on their website, but I'm going to guess that it never occurred to them and it's little value for them to fix it.

Yeah, the LATAM website makes no mention of this whatsoever. They really ought to if this is the case!

From the LATAM website under Sydney:
  • Opening hours: 24 hours
  • Entry requirements: This benefit applies to Black Signature, Black and Platinum members, and customers traveling in Premium Business (only for international flights and on LATAM routes)
  • Location: departures, in front of boarding gates 4 and 5
  • Managed by: Qantas
  • Services: business center, wifi, showers, family area, complementary food, coffee shop with barista, bar service (after midday)
  • Status: open

*Each Black Signature, Black and Platinum member may bring one guest.

Well, my interpretation.

Apart from the Opening 24 hours. This clearly points to the domestic lounges as the location is in front of Gates 4 and 5. IIRC, Qantas International is more near Gate 9 and 10 and on a different level.

Should get Qantas lounge staff to read that and "Please explain!"😆.

Funnily enough, it never mentioned the international lounge.

Except for the line:

(only for international flights and on LATAM routes)

You are right though, the info on their website clearly mentions the domestic lounges, with the line "bar service after midday" however the page you are reading from is actually centred around lounges before LATAM departures as their contract lounge not lounges apart of the FF deals.

I mean there is no mention of international lounge in Sydney. BTW, it is the opposite in Melbourne. Only the international lounge is indicated on LATAM.

Wow, this Qantas lounge access policy for LATAM elite members is clear as mud!
Wonder whether LATAM or QANTAS is to blame!

LATAM, sure Qantas could publish full guides on who's eligible to their lounges but that'd be pages long.

LATAM do an ok job outlining the Delta lounges and access policy so wouldn't be that hard to update and include QF details.

Well if it's Qantas fault and they admit it, they'll say sorry x3 and we'll get another 3 $50 flight vouchers.

I went through the application, then finally balked at the US$80 fee (I'd forgotten about that) and then stopped. Now I get e-mails asking me to resume & apply. I wonder if eventually they'll offer me a discounted price to proceed :)

So one month in and we still don’t know if this opens the door to the salt and pepper squid kingdom?
A bargain if it does but AFAIK the only non-OWE status card that gets you into the QF F lounge in SYD and MEL is EK WP?

J Lounge access is still possibly worth it if travelling in whY and doing some internal Sth Am flights.

J lounge would definitely be great if it opens up LHR, SIN and PER intl.

As long as the reader beeps green it doesn’t really matter though does it. To be fair these agreements are so convoluted nobody really knows how it works aside from the people who negotiate them and sign the dotted line.
