Just log in and have a look at your transaction summary for.the year

Only shows me the ability to do monthly statements back to Jun 2013 (ie 6 months)
My first batch expires 25/1/15 however - so think this is Jan this year purchase.

Yes..there were 2 x 50% offers...I took advantage of both...although I think it was Feb 2013

Just bought some yesterday. I Am hopeful for more bonuses in jan too and given that a RTW from AKL in J is over $15k, this will have to be my way to go for my first taste of business class!

I was ummming and ahhhing over the 30% offer but the sweetened version which is practically the 50% bonus that we were expecting, has tipped me over the line and I will likely be buying.
Does anyone know if the 12k extra that will arrive 31st Jan 2014 add to next calendar years annual maximum ie. will people buying 60k now only be allowed to purchase an additional 60-12 = 48k throughout 2014 ?

Correct, the annual limit of points does not apply to bonus points received.

This is why it's important to distinguish that you purchased 60k miles plus a 30% bonus (and later 20% bonus). So the extra 20% bonus points that will be forthcoming in January - when you follow through the process correctly - will not contribute nor affect your annual purchase limits.

I enrolled my two sons on December 19th and it appears there is a 14 day hold on buying points according to the rules so they will miss this offer by a couple of days.

Is the 14 day hold only for buying points on a promo or for buying points ?
Can you still buy the points tomorrow (and get no bonus) if you open an account today ?

Anyone tried purchasing the points with a 28 Degrees mastercard? Mine is getting declined for some reason (not lack of funds!).

I made a successful purchase with a 28 Degrees Mastercard on 27 Dec 2013; the points are safely in the AA account (including 30% bonus). I used no special trick, it just worked OK.

With four family accounts and all are ineligible for the current offer that has a day to go I tried one last time this morning. Two are stopped by the twelve month rule 60,000 limit and two are not fourteen days open.
Despite all of this no go I still have a warm spot for AA.

If you had SPG accounts you could always top up via their 25% off discount, 20000 SPG points for accounts older than 14 days costs $525 US which translates to 25000 AA points.

I'm the only one that had a current SPG account. I created 3 more for family and tried to gift to them (as they can't buy) but no success. Oh well...

Hmmm according to 28 Degrees my credit card was charged despite being advised by points website it was declined. Susbequently it kept declining because there was no more available balance. I've got no confirmation emails or anything so this could get interesting. Also teh account is less than 14 days old so unlikely to have gone ahead anyhow.

Will have to hit up points.com live chat at some point and then hope AA have a similar deal next month..

Your account has not been charged, an authorisation for the amount was given but on subsequent processing by points.com the transaction was cancelled, the authorisation will drop off in seven days generally.
