Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Don't say that you don't have AAnywhere to go because you do...

Yep it is just a case of working out what you want to get back from the program you choose. I am also a 30k+ SC QF member......but since Dec 2014 I joined that BAddest of airlines, in the BAckwater of Western Europe, and have collected 4555 TP's.

most of it domestic - so it is not like I can go anywhere.

Don't say that you don't have AAnywhere to go because you do...

Q - is the problem the highlighted bit? + the four segments on AA metal one has to clock up...

Q - is the problem the highlighted bit? + the four segments on AA metal one has to clock up...

Seeing most of my flying is Australia & NZ / Pacific + the odd South Africa/Asia (in Y) - the AA proposition of four segments on AA metal looks a little challenging. I think I have only flown AA 3 times in 8 years...

But that's a discussion for another thread. If my travels change to US/Europe it may be time for a deeper investigation.

In the meantime, fingers crossed for QF LTP.

Question from someone who is a lengthy time away from any lifetime status. Kudos to those who have achieved it. An impressive feat.

I've read in this thread and others discussion of unpublished lifetime status. First class lounge invites for LT Gold? Does this happen (very often)? Any other gestures from Qantas that keeps you coming back?

Are there any benefits of LT silver status? On obtaining silver I am aware an invite to the QP is attached. Do you get one each year as incentive to push up to Gold?

I know that if ones current status is greater than that of their LT status these questions are all null and void.

Thanks all :D

In my understanding, no one on this thread (the cream of the cream of FF people in Australia) can definitively state basic things like the policy on "shadows" or comping processes. Good luck on identifying ANY unpublished benefits.

But I love that - keeps some mystery involved which keeps the hobby fun :)

Business class check in, ability to select seats free of charge, 50% bonus points, priority boarding.

And I will never forget as a lowly Silver upgraded to business class both ways on a SYD-BKK return. My first experience in busines on the 747. Will never forget my excitement at getting the business class op-up SYD-BKK and then the anticipation of another op-up on the return flight and the let down waiting to board until that beep at the gate. ;)

Forgot about this thread! Hit LTG a few months ago...from 0 to 14,000 SCs in just under 9.5 years. Pretty happy with that. :)

Hit SPG LTG this year too, so feeling pretty good about future travels for now. :)

It actually 4 segments "on American Airlines"; posts on FT indicate this can be flight numbers OR metal.

Also, once status is attained with AAdvantage there's a minimum earn on any eligible segment.

At the moment, nope! One week in Europe - one week in Aus. Spending every weekend doing a 24hr run on a plane....... But SWMBO is looking forward to a free trip to the US!!

Woo-hoo!!! LTG for me after today's flight (13997 with 40 to credit from this morning).
LTS in Oct 12, three years later and many posts read and absorbed on AFF and I'm there :)
Noticed the 0900 was an A330 business suite and asked nicely at check-in to be swapped to that flight.
Happy Days !! 01444365694.jpg

Congrats, I am on 11,608 and need 2 RTW DONE4's next year to get me there ðŸ

I think I got to LTS before you and I'm still about 1.5 years away from LTG....are you going to still credit to QF or switch to Ba? :)

Sitting on the fence :D
Will continue crediting to QF for P1 during this membership year. That gives me plenty of options over the next year or two including BA and AA. I think I could get LTP with BA with some careful planning ;)
