Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

kpc if you don't give up your day job we won't think you are strange. My partner was a bit worried when I corrupted a family man with a load of children. Then we get pictures from around the globe and it's all ok now. They are based in the US and have been running hot on flights and cruises.
cove, I have to thank you....her eyes almost popped out when she saw you open your wallet to reveal all your credit cards...then you mentioned you had another wallet full of cards as well:mrgreen: Whenever she says we have too many credit cards, i just say "not as many as cove!!"

kpc I have a new international card wallet as we seem to spend some time away.
Any way I can help you..........no problem. That recent Life Miles offer was pretty sweet. AA one did not compare well at all.
Let your partner know I bought a dozen flip top leather card holders at $8.95 each.
Mrscove has a Macy's credit card and is getting deluged with credit card offers in our US mail box.
Now my lady wants to fly others around as she has started noticing her points/miles figures have grown.
Then she says why not pay cash for this and that....including the ATO.....ouch!
In between time I have been buying discounted gift cards typically 10% to 30% off in the US because I can.
Once we both made it to Lifetime Gold Mrscove wants Platinum status or more.

Do any of you find it odd that the (fairly new) QF website 'my account' shows your LT status rather than your current status?

For example, mine shows Lifetime Silver rather than Platinum. It just seems weird to see Silver not Platinum. Why wouldn't they display the higher status?

There are many frustrations with the QF website (I'm hating the fact that selecting 'modify search' completely resets all fields so you have to start again with a multi-city booking). But my account shows my current status just fine. I need to click for more info before I see my lifetime progress. Surprised yours is the other way around OzEire.

Mine also says Lifetime gold up the top rather than platinum, although under the diagram it states how many status credits needed to retain platinum. I am happy - unlikely to retain platinum in the future given our desire to to experience other carriers, so lifetime gold suits me just fine.

Perhaps P1s just need constant reminders of how special we are. :)

Except when it comes time to calculating my points/SCs for a flight - even when logged in it shows me how much I'll earn as a Bronze FF.

Aahh - the wonder that is QF's website.

That's to remind you how little you will earn/get if you lose WP (or WP1) status...
Sometimes marketing is subtle (as opposed to just plain stupid)

Happy wandering

I did wonder about this. Perhaps upon renewal QF will send out a LT Silver membership card, with "Platinum exp MM/YY" written in small text at the bottom ;)

However the monthly newsletter shows current status in the banner (using the same style sheet) so it's inconsistent.

Is the a minimum sector requirement or anything similar with LTG, or can you literally fly on QF once every 2 years and still be SG?

No there's no minimum sectors or requirement at all. Once you hit 14K SC you are SG for life (or the life of the program  )

Thanks PF, I thought that was the case, but just wanted to be certain. Recently relocated to DXB and have switched my travel (mostly) to EK and just about to hit EK SG (but don't think I'll be able to maintain it), so good to know QF SG will always be there for me.

LTG is the best all round comfort zone to be in.

Good stuff, PF! I just rummaged around in the filing cabinet and found that I did keep my letter - dated 9 Sept 2008. Been another 1.3x around the dial since then :).

MrP's letter is still on the floor in my car. Been busy.

LTP would be :p

as for the letter. puhlease that thing isn't worthy of the pool room. back of the dunny door morelike. Yes the status/achievement is fantastic but the letter is such a letdown. I mean they don't even give you like a systemwide upgrade or bonus points or a special bag tag or anything. Geez QF up your game (my letter is sitting under my last tax return and probably some guff from UA lol)

Have to agree about the letter. At least mine had the signature of the then 'Group General Manager Loyalty' and not just a blank signature space over the amorphous 'QFF Team'.

I came in on QF 10 on Sunday night which qualifies me for life time Gold. I just need to wait for the "LET QANTAS REWARD YOU BONUS STATUS CREDITS" to credit
which should take another 24-48 hours. I take it that LTG is effective immediately but only comes into effect once Platinum status drops away.
