Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

I came in on QF 10 on Sunday night which qualifies me for life time Gold. I just need to wait for the "LET QANTAS REWARD YOU BONUS STATUS CREDITS" to credit
which should take another 24-48 hours. I take it that LTG is effective immediately but only comes into effect once Platinum status drops away.
Congrats. :). And yes it sits there until you need it and then they send your LTG package - (or at least that is what my letter said).

Well done MelUser. Hopefully you won't have to wait a long time for those bonus credits.
Mine from QF10 early Oct (and the flights to the UK in September) still haven't credited :(

Thank you for the congrats everyone.

It took effect midnight Wednesday when the bonus status credits credited.

I did tell the CSM from DXB to MEL that this was my lifetime Gold qualifying flight and he also congratulated me.

I feel now like I've passed the exam.

It also means by lifetime Qantas Club membership is completely redundant!

Thank you for the congrats everyone.

Until they change the T & C's, they could take QP off the benefits list, so will be good for your to keep track of your lifetime QP membership.

# Status Credits earned every membership year contribute to Lifetime Status. As soon as the required number of Status Credits has been earned, Silver or Gold recognition is awarded for life. The program Awards, Rewards and Benefits may change from time to time.........

Congrats :)

Well done straitman for making it to Lifetime Gold.

I was talking to him on the phone yesterday as he was in Queensland, wondered what he was doing there, flying to make Life time Gold was his response.

His flights today should tick him over the 14,000 points.

Congrats Bill.

Thought you would have passed that milestone ages ago, Straitman.
Depends how your flights are counted, eh? :)
Well done!

It took me 14 years to get the 14000SC. Not much for a few years then Plat for most recent years.
By the end of today I'll be at 14065SC and will have retained Plat for another 12 months.
I had worked out what to do going forward but not sure now with at AA changes.

Welcome to the club. May you get lots of use out of the lifetime part. :)

Congrats Bill. You've got till sometime in mid/late 2016 to earn as much as you can from the AA old rules. Go for it.
And remember the AA partner earn rates are "still to be announced".

Congrats - still 3 years faster than me :). But then I didn't know life time status existed until I joined this board!

While you can do so, I reckon WP is still where it's at ... however, IMHO no point in chasing loyalty bonus or anything much past the 1200 re-qualification level ...

I think the changes occur 20th march next year Fred.

The changes to a fare based multiplier for AA RDMs will likely happen in the second half of 2016. The exact date and the method of calculating partner flight RDM earnings has not been determined (yet). EQM earning changes on 01 Jan 2016.

In the meanwhile, AA status will be relatively easy to earn (though I still believe QF will remain easier) and RDMs will be basically under the old system. Awards will be slightly more expensive - except in long haul F where they will be a lot more expensive.

Enjoy while you can. And Bill has a reasonable window to learn and earn.

Congrats! This thread made me check my lifetime stats..still about 4000 SCs to go..

Did anyone else note that if you earn 7000 SCs in one year, not only do you get lifetime silver in one year, but QF give 100,000 bonus bonus points. Wonder if anyone on AFF has hit that milestone?
