Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Did you consider crediting to BA once you'd achieved LTG on QF?

No. I hit LTG some years ago, I think just before I retired.

My travel is almost entirely a DONE4 or 5 each year (obviously paid), which keeps me WP (I dread the thought of reverting to SG ;) but at least LTG is a worst-case backup), and at another time of the year I use points to, particularly in recent times, travel in the front of some EK flights somewhere.

It may have been an opportunity missed back then. I'm getting too old, so it's too late now.

I've been a QFF since '98 so it probably had to do with some legacy method of awarding SC's.

SC ending in a 1 is odd. Most QFF from the 90’s end in a 3 or 8. Not exactly sure why however I do rember reading a thread about this either on this site, FT or ausbt a couple or few years back @serfty may know the answer. Currently my LT SC end in 8 however at times it is also 3.

By any chance were you part of those short lived targeted QF trials for SC earn on CC and shopping trials.

Well we are all over the place. My lifetime total ends in a 4, Mr FM is a 6, Dr FM is 0 and Ms FM is 9. We all joined the FF program in 1998. I think there was some other system initially and when the current system came in they converted whatever it was that we had to status credits. I wasn’t too across the program in the early days. Used to get upgrade certificates and I never really knew what to do with them.

We’ve been QFF since 1994. My lifetime credits end in zero and MrP’s a 9. He’s LTG and I’m way behind.

I joined in Aug 92. I am out of my depth on QF tally’s ending in 4,6,9 etc, so far the only ending numbers missing are are 2 and 7, any takers.

@Flying mermaid , I used to get those upgrade certificates as well and from memory SC were once called TC but may be wrong.

I stand by my origanal comment someone like @serfty will most likely know the answer.

I joined at the same time and my lifetime SCs are 2547-so there is the 7 you were missing.

Definitely weren’t status credits to start with - tier credits does sound familiar,- and whatever the formula used for converting to status credits resulted in the funny numbers.

OTTOMH, in September 1998 Tier Credits were introduced where SC could be earned in quantities that included 8 and 15. These were later directly converted to SC's.

Of course, there are those more recent 50% bonus SC values where, say a 45SC earn became a net 67.

So if they ended on one hand with an odd number and on the other with an even number then you can get a total with any number as the last number on your SC total.

But when did the change from say SYD>MEL from 8 to 10 SC's happen?
At the same time TC's became SC's. :)

As for dates I'll need to go back through my files.

Note that from Sept '98 through May '05 MEL-SYD earned the same credits as MEL-BNE (10 in disc. economy).
