Life Time Gold - The [Realistic] Holy Grail

Richard, were you thinking that maybe[/] you now attaining LTG that you will find a direct line to the QF SG direct line priority contact phone number?
I got to SG (for this one year anyway), and thought that the back of the card would have a phone number, other than 131131!
But nope!

Did you read the post above yours? there is a different phone number there.

Well folks you were all right LOL. I got "The Letter" and it's pretty meh!!

I got mine so long ago I can't remember what it said, but I make the observation of this letter that I think (hope?) it is a relief that the asterisk does not appear after the word 'life' earlier on the same line.

However, what would a lawyer make of it being at the end of the sentence? (ie. does the disclaimer apply to the whole sentence or just the last phrase).

Am I being neurotic?

LOL yes well I basically read the * as hey you have this now, but we can change the T&C at anytime.

I'd like to think that QF is a fairly decent (I know "Simpler & Fairer" aside) organisation and they'd grandfather such folks.. like when they pulled QC Life memberships they didn't say "Well all you lot who have bought QC Life get 5 years and that's it" or something). But, this is business, so who knows.

I thought I'd post the actual letter for interest sake and also for reference for those in the (near) future, wondering like me if there was anything to get excited about :D

Umm well no AP I was not thinking naything of the kind. I'm currently P1, so well above Gold anyway so it didn't even cross my mind regarding gold phone priority (not sure how you came to this conclusion?)

And I only mention being P1 in the context of this post. I wouldn't want any poster to think that I was "bragging" somehow; it's just a statement of fact.

Anyway IIRC the one number is for simplicity sake, and I like it.. you pop your FF# in and the call will get routed (hopefully) appropriately. Certainly since I've been WP I've always had QF Premium respond and very quickly. Not sure re Gold but perhaps you get there depending on the specific queues or not. I have no idea about the phone priorities - I honestly rarely have a need to call (which is great!).

So there is! I didn't notice myself!! I just call the normal number and get routed. However that does refer to the FF service centre specifically rather than res, though calling the res number can route you to FF of course via the menu or agent.

So yeah I just tripped over the 14k level myself. Haven't had an email or any indication of change on my QC summary page (but currently P1, so I guess that trumps LTG anyway). Should I expect anything (as in an email, or letter or something to acknoledge it) or just quietly keep calm and carry on flying? :)

I hit LTG in 2011 but have never heard anything about reaching the milestone from QF.

One day in the future I will need it though so it's always in the back of my mind for that eventuality.

Roll on LTP (please Qantas??)

A CC that offers status miles on spend. Interesting!

AB gives a Status mile per Euro spend on their German and Austrian Credit Cards.
Double miles for super market and Shell stations.
50k for AB Gold (Sapphire) and 100k for AB Platinum (Emerald).

Before QF made their program simpler and fairer, I just credited all AB flights to QF, yielding at least 10SCs

As I fly them quite often and my WP card does not get me into their "exclusive waiting areas", I just opted for that option.
Funnily I get lounge access with QF and DJ in Australia, as they partner with DJ as well!

Just realised I've made the magic 14K mark.
Must have happened a few weeks back when I wasn't looking.
10 yrs to get to LTS & a further 2.5 yrs to get to LTG.

Only really in the last 2 years did I hit it hard and concentrate my SC earn into QF whereas I had been all over the shop with Virgin, United, Thai, Jet* (no bundles).
I had also moved a lot more flying onto OneWorld carriers wherever possible (primarily AA, CX & AY) due to this community.

So after getting the 'status disease' (thanks AFF community) I found it to be a drug I needed more of. This community also helped me maximise my WP benefits and understand 'the value' of status. It has also help me explain the disease to my Mrs who has since seen the benefits bestowed upon her (and now achieves WP outright).

Now that I have LTG, I need to scratch my head on what I'll do ... either maintain WP with QF or move across to AA. I'm finding less use for QFF points and the burn rates (inc 'taxes') seem less attractive vs other programs.

In short, many thanks to this community for their words of wisdom.
