Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

I'm hoping someone can help me with potential lounge options at BKK?

Transiting from QF23 to QF3440 (PG268 Bangkok Air) to CNX
I'm guessing a long walk to B2 in Domestic (I normally fly Singapore Air, not sure which concourse for QF23 arrivals)

Are there any lounge options around Concourse B?

American Express Platinum and Black
Priority Pass

I would hate to find out after the fact that there were some options we could have utilised.

Thanks in advance.

Can't answer about lounges via card access, but all passengers flying Bangkok Airways have access to the 'Boutique Lounge'. Passengers in economy, without status, are eligible for access free of charge. Details here: Asia's Boutique Airline - Bangkok Airways

The BKK Boutique Lounge has been renovated (press release: Bangkok Airways unveils renovated domestic passenger lounges at Chiang Mai International Airport and Suvarnabhumi International Airport - Bangkok Airways) and there are free drinks, snacks and wifi. I'm not sure about showers though (I pretty sure there aren't any.)

You can see a virtual tour of the lounge via this link... about halfway down the page: Suvarnabhumi International Airport - Bangkok Airways

Can guest passes be purchased at the star lounge lax? Don't want to walk all the way to the loft only go though security again
Who are you flying with and from where to where...

Really can't provide a reasonable answer without that ...

Hi all - just adding my recent experience for a regularly asked question ...

Having booked QF for flights BNE - LAX return, with AA domestic flights, I thought I'd give the American Airlines 30 day Admirals Club membership a try ... and see if that would get us into Qantas Club (QC Brisbane International Business Lounge and "we" being myself, my 24 year old son & my 10 year old son).

From the other great advice given here, I made it as easy as possible for the QC reception - I had my home-printed AAdvantage Card (free to join & required to purchase the $99 30 day membership), the confirmation email of the AC 30 day memb dates, our QF boarding passes & passports (to verify I was the AC member etc). I approached & handed over all but the passports ...

After a little bit of um-img and ah-ing for a minute or two about guest numbers allowed (I steadfastly said one guest & a child - not counted as guest were allowed according to AA) so we were given entry. Worth the try & I had asked the kids to just look and act natural as if we'd done this before.

From what I've read on these forums this doesn't always work however I'm just sharing my own experience now for others. I'll also be trying this on the way back through LAX - don't like my chances but already confirmed we can use the AC at terminal 4 to kill some time before heading over for our 23:45 flight back next week.

Cheers, K

Hi All-

Doing a Europe trip in Sept/Oct with our 4 kids (8-13) and Travel agent isn't sure about what we will have access to because of the number of children.

QF517 BNE to SYD 2xJ 4xY 17/09
QF1 SYD to DXB 2xF 4xY 17/09
QF1 DXB to LHR 2xF 4xY 18/09

Can the kids come into Brisane Business Lounge? I know Syd F is kid/family friendly and we can go in there.
Can the kids come into Dubai First Lounge? 2 hr stopover
Where can we go once we land in London? It will 6.55am and can't get into room until afternoon. Somewhere for shower and food?

8463 LCY to IBZ 6xY - British Airways 25/09
3507 IBZ to BCN 6xY - Veuling Airlines 28/09
6110 BCN to FCO 6xY - Veuling Airlines 28/09
1205 FCO to CDG 6xY - Air France 03/10

Do we need to go through customs with these? Which lounges would we get access to?

QF2 LHR to DXB - 2xF 4xY 09/10
QF2 DXB to SYD - 2xF 4xY 10/10
QF508 SYD to BNE - 2xJ 4xY 10/10

Which departure lounge will allow kids?
Can the kids come into Dubai First Lounge? 2 hr stopover
When we land in SYD at 6.10 and fly to BNE at 8.05, is there enough time to freshen up and grab something to eat before flight and where can we go? TA thinks we can go back to QF F Lounge.

I will hit QF WP when we land in London. Amex Plat. Visa Prestige. My wife and I both have Priority Pass.

Thanks heaps

If all 4 are under 18 then you should have no trouble with the qantas lounges.

It may be different for other lounges such as with british airways.

As mentioned PG Boutique lounge is available to everyone but I thought you had to be a member of the frequent flyer program. Basic snacks, some juice, tea/coffee, water, desktops, free wifi.

Located opposite gate A3. Not a long walk to the B gates.

G'day AFFers!

I have a question which I know the official answer to... but wanted to see whether there had been any [recent] success stories with it in any case.

I'm outbound on QF81 SYD-SIN in a couple of weeks, most likely in J as a WP. I have a colleague who is also flying out that morning, but on CX162 SYD-HKG in Y, which leaves about 25 mins earlier. You probably know where I am headed with this, but the question is: Do many or any have experience with QF relaxing their own policy to meet the OW version of the same, which allows for OWE guest access where the guest is simply travelling on a OW-operated & marketed flight... or has everyone had that guest turned away, trumped by the QF rule which states the guest must be on the same flight?

If there is a chance, is there some way to request exception up front - like putting a name on the door list?
If it is unlikely to get the go-ahead, I probably wouldn't even tell my colleague that I have F (or any) lounge access......

Cheers,
Matt.

I would suggest asking at the reception desk at the time. When you ask, do it without your colleague so the lounge staff do not feel pressured, and it makes it look as if you are not pre-empting an answer, either.

Thanks, JessicaTam - not a bad idea, if I can't get in touch before that day... I'd probably be there well before my colleague checks in anyway, for obvious reasons... ;)
Also still interested in any success stories, or notes on contacting QF ahead of time, if that is ever a done thing?

Cheers,
Matt.

I recently did the LAN LA800/801 from SYD-AKL-SYD in J class and QC member.
Was initially refused entry to the SYD QC lounge until I asked to talk to the duty manager.
Filed a complaint with Qantas .. no response .. that I am now finding the norm.
Has anyone else had this problem?

LAN is a member of Oneworld, so a business class boarding pass gives you access to the Qantas business class lounge.

QC membership would not have been applicable for this flight.

I didn't get initial access with the J class LAN boarding pass - even with big bold type "BUSINESS CLASS" - even blind qantas staff could read it.

Hence the complaint that Qantas still has not responded to.

So, the F Lounge angels ended up saying it was no problem, so long as he was on another QF or OW flight... unfortunately though, as SYD was so busy this morning, by the time my colleague got through the various NB equivalent paths of check in, immigration, and security... it was time for him to board! Oh well - next time.

Cheers,
Matt.

I recently got a gold status match to TK. I am flying on Air NZ next month and currently crediting SC to my Air NZ account.

I'll use my TG gold card to access the Koru Lounge but do I also need to change the SC so they credit to TK as well? Or do I simply show my TK gold at the lounge entrance?

Thanks
W-K

You should be fine with just showing the TK card.

Hello, I recently reached Gold on VA and I will be travelling SQ (in Y... ) to Norway, via Singapore and Frankfurt. I also hold a Bankwest More World Platinum Card, which comes with Priority Pass lounge access. What would be the best way to take advantage of this? I have 8hrs in Singapore and 4 or 5hrs in Frankfurt, and I never had lounge access before, so I am not sure if I would be better off using the Krisflyer Gold lounges or any of the Priority Pass ones. Thank you!

Re: Advice for LAX lounging

Hello everyone!

Quick question – is there any lounge I could use in DXB (other than the Marhaba Lounge) by paying? I have no status really, only about 10,000 points with Emirates Skywards Blue, and I'm QF Bronze. Nothing special whatsoever. Is there any lounges I could pay for, or buy a pass for in DXB, terminal 3?

I'm transitting there for a few hours, doing the trip from ZRH to SYD via DXB. Would be nice to be able to unwind in a lounge. I stayed at Marhaba last time but it was a huge letdown.

Any ideas? I'm flying Y so I'll have to pay for something.

Cheers for the help,
Josh

P.S. Has anyone used the SnoozeCubes there?

Re: Advice for JNB EK lounge access

Present status - QF Gold
Flying JNB/DXB - DXB/CDG both legs in Y on EK metal/ flight no's.

Am I correct ,that I will have no EK lounge access in JNB South Africa but can access EK business lounge in DXB? (QF seems to indicate only access in N not S Africa)
Can I guest in my wife as well?
