Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Ok, so hopefully this is in the right place, I am travelling the following route,
per-mel-lax-yvr
sea- lax-Syd-per

have long layovers in mel-lax on the outbound
now I know domestically I can get nothing but can I pay in lax to go into a lounge?
Have no status as we pool points etc and DH gets all the glory ;)
seattle has a westjet lounge I can use for around $50
flights are Qantas/ westjet/Alaskan
oh and this time just in economy too :/
Tia for any help

For USD99 you can buy a one month membership to the AAdmirals Club. This gives you the same rights as a full member, just for a limited time.

With the membership you can enter all Qantas lounges (including in australia), and all AA lounges overseas. Can also use it in the Alaska Airlines Boardroom in T6 at lax or in Seattle before an AS departure.

Awesome - thanks! I had read that and sent the admirals club an email as it was a bit ambiguous but they haven't responded yet, thanks

Does the AA membership give access to prior to a Westjet flight? I wouldn't have thought so.

Does the AA membership give access to prior to a Westjet flight? I wouldn't have thought so.

It does.

For access to AA clubs you don't need to show a boarding pass - just membership card and ID (although you need a boarding pass or other arrangement to be able to get into the terminal in the first place). You don't have to be flying AA.

For international lounges, you must obviously have a valid boarding pass to access the lounge, but once you can get in the terminal, you don't have to be flying AA to access the lounge based on the paid membership.

My flight goes from terminal 2 so pretty sure I can't use the lounges, unless I can use one in a different terminal?

As long as you can access the terminal you can use the lounge. Many terminals have air-side connections - not sure of the particular terminal for your flight though.

But note the 30 day pass doesn't provide the purchaser with a membership card.

LAX T2 is not connected airside to T4. pootie is probably able to go check in with WS in T2, walk back around to T4, access the lounge, then walk back to T2 and clear security again. Potentially possible, but maybe not so practicable.

If I understand pootie's itinerary, it would be good for PER, MEL, SEA, LAX (on the return), and SYD. So still good value.

pootie, how long is your layover at LAX? Enough time for a quick trip to In-N-Out?

Ok so flights is as follows
qf 648 23.50/05.25 per mel
qf93 0915/06.35 mel lax
qf3359 11.45 / 14.30 lax Yvr - operated by westjet terminal 2

qf3754 17.45 20.26 sea- lax
qf12 22.30/06.30 lax- Syd
qf575 0815/11.20 Syd per

so as you can see the only really long ones are on the outbound, I get off a cruise in sea so will go to the airport early so will get a lounge there I can pay for one st X cost of around $40

thanks for all your help so far. ☺️

it may be possible, all I really want to do is have a shower, get changed and sit somewhere comfy for a little while
I will need to collect bags and recheck in so maybe I won't have time, unless my bags go straight to yvr, which I am pretty sure they will not.

I also have a Calgary Seattle in the flights which I didn't pop in previous, it's in now above
Any help will be fab - thanks

Flying out of Amsterdam in Y on EK metal with a QF flight number.
Will I have access to the Aspire lounge that is used by Emirates?
I have a bad feeling Y won't cut it?

We are travelling HKG via SIN (CX739) to PER (QF72) in July.
I am only FF Bronze but have QP membership. We are travelling Flexible Economy and we will both be back to Silver - but not until we finish this journey.
We both have ANZ Black FF AMEX and VISA Credit Cards....first 6 digits 377767 of the AMEX.

I thought that we could access a lounge in HKG using our cards and then the Qantas Lounge in SIN because of the QP membership.

In a couple of threads that I have read I am not sure if my assertions are correct.

I would appreciate any thoughts on these.

I'm not up on lounge access for credit cards, but you won't have lounge access in HKG with Qantas club as you'd need to be departing HKG on QF or Jetstar for that.

You will have access to the Qantas lounge in SIN through qantas club.

Undoubtedly another AFFer will be able to confirm lounge access for AMEX, if any, at HKG.

You'll get into the SIN lounge as you are travelling on QF.
I'm not sure what the lounges if any are accessible at HKG with the ANZ Black cards. I think you might be out of luck there. You could always try the QF HKG lounge as they might be kind and let you in as you have a QF flight on your itinerary.

Daughter is travelling on a reward business class fare from USA on Qantas metal. The domestic leg has had an aircraft change which means there is no Business class on that flight.

However, with a few hours to wait in Sydney, she has been told there is also no Lounge access now that the travel class had been downgraded to Economy. Is this correct, as it is still a Business Class ticket? She has no status.

No this is incorrect. As the inbound long haul sector is in business she has access to the business lounge for the connecting short haul sector.
Link below explaining the one world rules on this which QF need to abide by.
Lounge access for first class or business class customers

Thank you for that info, that's great. I thought surely that can't be right but Qantas Sales said no, she wasn't eligible. I will get back to them.

As I have always said... qantas (any airline's) reservation and call centre staff are excellent... for fares and ticketing.

anything else... lounge access, visas, choosing the best seats, earning points, luggage allowances, airport procedures... use AFF :)

Re: Lounge access in Singapore

Hi all,

Have a lengthy trip coming up with my partner all in Y and trying to draw on the collective wisdom of AFF to get the best use of 4 x QF Lounge Passes :)

This is our route:
QF MEL-DXB
Transit 2 hours
QF code, EK metal DXB-FCO
Transit 5 hours
AirItalia FCO-PMO

Then return leg:
QF code, EK metal VIE-DXB
Transit 3 hours
QF DXB-MEL

Any advice would be much appreciated!
