Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Well chairmen lounge are ditto about two years ago! Had no idea ........somehow have been managing until today with flying despite not being with QF for technical reasons.
WP/P1 lost anytime access some years ago.

It would be one of:

BKK-(JQ)-xSIN-(QF)-MEL

BKK-(QF*JQ)-xSIN-(QF)-MEL

BKK-(QF)-xSYD-(QF)-MEL

With the latter more expensive, but I would have oneworld lounge access.

I have a CC which give 2 PP lounge access per year, so could use that - but those lounges are little to write home about.
My personal experience of this, being on a 3K flight number and QG status evening flight, was I could not get into any of the usual lounges. As stated by Hvr, I think I needed to be on a MAX fare to get the invite.
Was not too bad a place to spend an hour or so, but I did miss the lounge access that the late EK to AUS flight used to offer. And the QF leaves too early to be of any use for business.

My wife and I will be travelling in Business on CX via HKG, and I've just read that the entitlement for entry to the Cathay Business Lounge is for Business Paggengers only (no guests).

Our kids are travelling Economy on CX, so does this mean the kids will not get access to the lounge with us?

However on the Qantas Lounge site, this seems to allow Business oneworld customers (plus 1 guest) on a oneworld flight to use the Qantas Business (or non business) lounge:

Am I reading this right? So that means the Qantas lounge will offer what the Cathay lounge will-not?

M

Good pickup - I thought it listed all as 1 - then were screwed then. No guests with Qantas or Cathay lounges. Are either likely to be flexible?

Different circumstances, but also some related discussion here:

Not sure if this has been asked and answered before, but wondering about allocating a QF complimentary lounge pass to a child travelling with her Mum on the same flight who will also have a complimentary pass. The rules state that pass holders cannot take in guests or children, but I would think a child could be an "eligible" customer if allocated a pass. Child will be 8y.o. and as I said accompanied in the lounge and on the flight by her Mum.

I have assigned passes to our kids in the past when they were younger and travelling with my wife who was also using a pass, treated as just another pass holder.

Two adults (business) and two teens (economy) travelling on BA ORD-LHR-NRT

No elite status

Is there any way we can all get into a lounge in ORD or LHR?

M

BNE VA International Lounge is operated by No 1 Lounges. Is access allowed with a one-time VA lounge physical complimentary entry card? The VA website does mention these in its lounge information (not that I could find anyway).

Hi team

I,m planning a trip SYD-DXB-LHR return with a mate. I'll be in J, he in Y

I have F lounge access in DXB as QFF platinum. I plan to book myself on the QF codeshare, my mate wants to book the EK code as it's a few hundred dollars cheaper ( and he doesn't care about SCs :) )

Will there be a problem guesting him in at DXB ? Same flight but different codes QF vs EK.

Also same question for the SYD Qantas F lounge but I think that's OK

Thanks !

Hi all, just bumping for any comment please

Apologies for a belated response but I have just seen your query.

From the QF Platinum Benefits page:

Benefits with Emirates
As a Qantas Platinum Frequent Flyer member, when you travel with Emirates (with your Frequent Flyer number in your Emirates booking) between and within Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Asia and Australia, you will enjoy:

<Snip>
  • Lounge Access - Australia, Europe, Asia, North Africa and the Middle East
When travelling on a flight with a Qantas (QF) or Emirates (EK) flight number you can enjoy access to Emirates Lounges throughout Australia, Europe, Asia, North Africa and the Middle East, for you and one guest and up to two children aged between 4 and 17 who are travelling with you on the same flight. In Dubai, you and a guest may enjoy the luxurious Emirates First Lounge.
I suppose the devil in the detail is the definition of “the same flight”.
Best of luck. :)

Looking to travel on a Jetstar operated flight out of BKK to SIN.

Lounge access as a WP?

-on a Jetstar Flight Number?
-on a QF Flight Number? (Same Aircraft)
Based on a friend's experience a few years ago - maybe the AF lounge?
QF web site indicates the "Miracle" lounge before the QF flight to SYD but is unclear re those on Jetstar metal.
My experience with Mirage lounges is they are very strict and always insist on an invitation card from JQ which is where you will check in.

So it comes down to whether or not JQ will issue you with an invitation. Somehow I can't seem them doing that based purely on status.

I have taken a JQ BKK-SIN flight before but it was part of a journey back which included a SIN-MEL leg in J with a Max bundle so the invitation was given for the BKK Mirage lounge.

Will be interested to hear the outcome.

Doing some more research, I see PAX on 3K starter MAX fares from BKK have access to the Sky Lounge (Air France) in Concourse F .

I did book BKK-(QF*JQ)-xSIN-(QF)-MEL, so I will find out soon enough.

Can someone please let me know what lounge does a China Airlines J class passenger use in Melbourne?
I see conflicting reports of some saying the Qantas International Business and some saying the Marhaba Lounge.

Much appreciated, thank you!

Have only flown with CI once out of MEL and we were directed to the Marhaba lounge which I thought was pretty average.
I do remember someone on here saying that they booked with the QF code and as a WP they had access to the MEL QF F lounge?

Right, thanks for that.
Unfortunately I am a lowly bronze so it looks like the unspectacular Marhaba will have to do

Oh, I don’t mean it’s terrible and it’s far from the worst lounge going around. Was a while ago but for memory it had good views and the food was ok without being great. Had a couple of tasty Asian hot dishes. I’m pretty sure it didn’t have a bar as such but had a fridge with a decent selection of beers and a small self pour spirits and wine section. Mrs Jase had a coffee and said it was really good but I haven’t been in the lounge since so no idea of any upgrades or changes
