Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Oh, I don’t mean it’s terrible and it’s far from the worst lounge going around. Was a while ago but for memory it had good views and the food was ok without being great. Had a couple of tasty Asian hot dishes. I’m pretty sure it didn’t have a bar as such but had a fridge with a decent selection of beers and a small self pour spirits and wine section. Mrs Jase had a coffee and said it was really good but I haven’t been in the lounge since so no idea of any upgrades or changes

Cheers, not expecting anything fancy as long as it does the job (F&B wise) ;)
Any shower facilities in the lounge by chance?

QF web site indicates the "Miracle" lounge before the QF flight to SYD but is unclear re those on Jetstar metal.
My experience with Mirage lounges is they are very strict and always insist on an invitation card from JQ which is where you will check in.

So it comes down to whether or not JQ will issue you with an invitation. Somehow I can't seem them doing that based purely on status.

I have taken a JQ BKK-SIN flight before but it was part of a journey back which included a SIN-MEL leg in J with a Max bundle so the invitation was given for the BKK Mirage lounge.

Will be interested to hear the outcome.
Doing some more research, I see PAX on 3K starter MAX fares from BKK have access to the Sky Lounge (Air France) in Concourse F .

I did book BKK-(QF*JQ)-xSIN-(QF)-MEL, so I will find out soon enough.
Well, I asked at checkin as no invite was offered. After showing them my WP card, I was advised to head to the "Miracle" lounge in concourse D, 3rd level and show my card and BP.

On presentation of my boarding pass and WP card, I was admitted after they took a photocopy of both.

(FWIW, it is some walk these days, after exiting emigration, you need to walk several hundred metres past rows and rows of high falutin' shops before reaching the end - you cop them whether you turn left or turn right . Eventually you reach a point where you can do a U turn and head down one level and back toward the centre of D where the lounge is.)

Sounds like the walk to the LHR T5 BA lounges (well most of them).

QFF Award booking in J
MEL-HKG(4hr transit)-DOH(3hr transit)-BCN

Which lounges in HKG are/were eligible for entry on this ticket? I believe Al Mourjain J lounge in Doha is the preferred option for Doha

I might be wrong but I am quite certain that The Al Mourjain Lounge is only for J passengers on Qatar only. I believe they have another much lesser J lounge for others that are entitled to J lounges.

Business passengers departing DOH on a oneworld flight can access Al Mourjan through 'class of travel' rules (e.g. J pax on BA to London or UL or Colombo, etc) but in this specific case @jaseb would be booked on QR for the DOH-BCN leg anyway.

I believe they have another much lesser J lounge for others that are entitled to J lounges.

The lounges you refer to (confusingly called the "Qatar Airways [Business/First] Class Lounges") are for OWS/OWE status pax travelling in economy.

Pax travelling in J or F get access to the proper QR lounges.

As a OW Emerald, will I be able to guest my partner at the QF J Domestic lounge Tuesday 30 March, and Perth 06 April?

Yes, if they have a valid boarding pass for any oneworld (ie. Qantas) flight.

If you were Qantas Platinum, you would be able to guest them even if they weren't travelling (subject to capacity restrictions)

Has this changed lately? The staff at CBR refused to allow Qantas Platinum members to guest others not travelling on the same flight as recently as last month.

Couldn't locate a current answer for the following lounge access question, so here goes…

Wife travelling on biz sale AKL-CNS-TSV//TSV-BNE-AKL next month (I class). The sector CNS-TSV is in Q400 so economy only.

The are some complications. Initially routing was same day AKL-CNS-TSV. However, the direct flight on 332 has been cancelled, so revised route is AKL-BNE-CNS, then overnight CNS, and the following day CNS-TSV.

Is she entitled to lounge access prior to departing CNS? having arrived in J the day prior? Cheers TK

Well done for not starting AFF's millionth thread with a lounge access query and instead using the dedicated thread for the very purpose.

My reading is no, no lounge access in CNS. However, due to the routing change, there's a small chance that if she presents her original itinerary along with the 'We've had to change your flight' email from Qantas, she might get lucky with the lounge agent.

However, due to the routing change

The initial routing maybe, maybe not. Qantas Lounge access state that Lounge access is dependant on the class of travel for the next flight (and not based on the previous flight)

But second one definitely does not.

I reckon a call to Qantas customer care with a request for same.

I agree that the actual itinerary will be what counts, and that she is not entitled to lounge access in CNS prior to the CNS-TSV flight in this instance.

That may be so, but Oneworld rules (which Qantas must follow) state that you can access the lounge if you're connecting in Economy directly to/from a long-haul Business class flight on a Oneworld airline. AKL-CNS qualifies as it is an international flight over 5 hours.

As per the Oneworld website (my bolding):

oneworld Lounge Access for First Class or Business Class Customers
  • Connecting between oneworld marketed and operated flights:
    • First and Business Class customers connecting on the same day of travel, or before 6am the following day, can access the lounge when travelling between an international long haul (a oneworld international long haul flight is defined as an international flight marketed and operated by any oneworld carrier with a scheduled flight time longer than 5 hours) and an international short haul or domestic flight (and vice-versa).
    • Lounge access will be determined on the international long haul ticketed flight (either First of Business Class) regardless of the ticketed class of travel on the international short haul or domestic flight.
    • You must be prepared to show your boarding pass or itinerary showing travel in First or Business class on the international long haul flight, in order to access the lounge before your international short haul or domestic flight.

Yep that’s why I said Maybe, maybe not.

The problem is that Qantas lounge dragons sometimes seem to intepret the Oneworld rule as applying to non Qantas One world customers travelling Qantas rather than Qantas customers travelling Qantas. Yes I know: Qantas is one world.....
I’ve experienced both a “wave through” and “sorry no access”

OK, thanks all. Since I am travelling with another and we depart and hour earlier, I’ll just guest my wife in (then leave) whilst the other pax waits outside briefly.

I have temp QC status through the Gold Match challenge (as a TG*G).
