Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

I’m going to be transiting in HKG for around 4hrs later in the year before flying to JFK in F. Can I guest one person into The Pier F and a different person into The Wing F?

Will Transit thru MIA on my way to NAS later this year flying AA (Bus).
Question..Please help: What has been your recent experience at Oneworld &/or Priority Pass lounge @ MIA?
Appreciate your thoughts. Thank you in advance.

Thank you serfty. Sounds good. Had good experience with AA Flagship Lounge @ LAX on my way to FAT last year.

Cairo

We are flying out of Cairo (CAI) to Jordan (AMM) in April on Egypt air MS707 B737-800 in Y slated for terminal 3.

(As an aside we are QC Bronze members but realise this is irrelevant).

We both have Diners Cards with Reward(Lounge) access.

On checking the DC Lounge website, there appear to be no less than 5 lounges with free access.
  • Alioth
  • Almeisan
  • Gienah
  • Kochab
  • First Class
As we are coming straight from checking out of the hotel in the AM we won't be requiring showers etc, but a nice relaxing atmosphere airside with decent wi-fi, decent food (lunch), convenient to gates would be great.

Does anyone have experience of these different lounges and guidance as to choice? Also is there any possibility of choosing seats on a discount economy ticket V (paid) ?

I guess I must have posted this in the wrong place or Cairo is not a popular departure point for AFF members. 🤔

Hi team

I,m planning a trip SYD-DXB-LHR return with a mate. I'll be in J, he in Y

I have F lounge access in DXB as QFF platinum. I plan to book myself on the QF codeshare, my mate wants to book the EK code as it's a few hundred dollars cheaper ( and he doesn't care about SCs :-) )

Will there be a problem guesting him in at DXB ? Same flight but different codes QF vs EK.

Also same question for the SYD Qantas F lounge but I think that's OK

Thanks !

With the Perth domestic J lounge also being used for QF's international services, what are the chances of a Platinum taking in two guests, rather than the one that's permitted at international J lounges?

That's a great question! Be curious to know the answer too. I guess the question really only applies to the SIN flights.

Not sure if this has been asked and answered before, but wondering about allocating a QF complimentary lounge pass to a child travelling with her Mum on the same flight who will also have a complimentary pass. The rules state that pass holders cannot take in guests or children, but I would think a child could be an "eligible" customer if allocated a pass. Child will be 8y.o. and as I said accompanied in the lounge and on the flight by her Mum.

Wow this just hit me as a P1 cannot access the Qantas Cairns lounge. Used to be able to have access when not flying with Qantas that same day. So this is an erosion and when did it happen? Nobody wrote to me from QFF!

According to the AusBT/ET archives... The delightful 'Anytime Access' perk for Platinum cardholders [ended] on January 31st [2011]

My experience with Mirage lounges is they are very strict and always insist on an invitation card from JQ which is where you will check in.

So it comes down to whether or not JQ will issue you with an invitation. Somehow I can't seem them doing that based purely on status.

I have taken a JQ BKK-SIN flight before but it was part of a journey back which included a SIN-MEL leg in J with a Max bundle so the invitation was given for the BKK Mirage lounge.

Will be interested to hear the outcome.

It would be one of:

BKK-(JQ)-xSIN-(QF)-MEL

BKK-(QF*JQ)-xSIN-(QF)-MEL

BKK-(QF)-xSYD-(QF)-MEL

With the latter more expensive, but I would have oneworld lounge access.

I have a CC which give 2 PP lounge access per year, so could use that - but those lounges are little to write home about.
