Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

As I understand it, as with many lounges there are a series of complex rules but without , "very generally" - flying on QR metal in F = Safwa, QR metal plus J = Mourjan

If you non statused J on other metal then a different lesser lounge is offered.
I flew out of Hamad last week on RJ in J and made it into the Al Moujan lounge. When i checked in the RJ check in person said i had access to the Oryx lounge. I wasnt happy with this as I needed a shower and they said the Oryx lounge had no showers. In the end i didnt use the handwritten Oryx lounge invitation. I went to the bottom of the escalators of Al Mourjan, showed my boarding pass, they did whatever they do, said i can go up, gave my boarding pass to the ladies at the top, they did their stuff on the computer and said enjoy your stay.

I was there about 0400 and the showers had a long wait and that was both sets of showers. The wait was about 30 minutes. The showers were ok but not having a hairdryer or a toilet is a bit of a miss. I note the sleep/rest pods also had a long waiting list.

I didnt have time for a full sit down a la carte meal but just had a salmon and caper on ciabatta. Was delicious.

Overall whilst not having much time to explore i would say this is definitely one of the better business class lounges i have seen. It shts all over the QF Syd J lounge.

Bear in mind that the lounge will be busier than usual at the moment due to the World Cup.

thanks everyone for your replies.
I will try and get us all into the platinum lounge using these suggestions..

Are there any lounges I can use in Singapore? The website info I found is below but I have 2 long haul flights. 1 business and 1 economy

Lounge access will be determined on the international long haul ticketed flight (either First of Business Class) regardless of the ticketed class of travel on the international short haul or domestic flight.

According to this itinerary, unless you have qantas club membership or are qantas gold or above, you will not have lounge access on arrival in Singapore or before departure of your long haul.

You would have lounge access inTokyo and KL because you are ticketed in business.

Singapore has a range of cheap paid lounge access which might suit your needs.

Thanks so much :) I'm qantas bronze so I'll go for the paid access.

Do you know for these flights if the lounges I've put are correct for what I can access? Any missing?

Both flights on different days

AFAIK those look ok! I would go for the EK lounge in SYD if it’s open.

Thank you :) It's my first time flying business so I'll absolutely go to EK while lounge hopping!
I would go as far to say you could save yourself some shoe leather and skip the QF lounge entirely, if the EK one is open! It really is not worth visiting unless a) the old AMEX lounge was still around and b) you have an alternative.

I just looked up EK in Sydney and it says "Opens from 5:10 pm to 9:00 pm". My flight is 5:05pm so guess I'll just miss it!

I just saw this about Emirates in Singapore so perhaps I could be eligible?
Departing in Economy Class on any oneworld airline, when the following rules are met:
1. Arrived in First or Business Class
2. Arrived in a flight that is more than 5 hours long
3. Departing on the same day or before 6am on the next day

Update - SQ call centre was able to add my wife and kids' Velocity numbers to their bookings, but not to mine, as it was me who did the redemption (for all 4 tickets). Wife is Gold so that's a start and I guess I'll show my Gold VFF card on my phone at check in to get to use the priority line/boarding/lounge.

My friend recently flew on Emirates in Business from Brisbane to Europe, via Dubai. In Brisbane Emirates sent him to the Plaza Premium Lounge (as the Emirates lounge is closed) and was told he could not use the Qantas lounge in Brisbane. This seems contradictory to the below. Any idea on what the current access policy actually is in Brisbane? Thanks!

The EK check-in staff were incorrect.
Your friend could have used the QF Lounge at BNE irrespective of what Lounge contract EK has with Plaza Premium.

But you are arriving on a flight from KUL, which is only 1 hour or so. You might try to get in showing the Tokyo BP, but I’m not sure of your chances.

When you book SQ flights on VA website you need to get the SQ booking reference and go to SQ website and choose seats.
Does this actually work though? Seems that some people have perhaps had to call SQ. I was kind of keen to grab the re of two seats at the back of the aeroplane at time of booking. I could check on the SQ site first ofcourse for availability but not sure how long the ticket would take in coming through via the VA booking. I would imagine the SQ PNR would be attached to that booking. Just nit sure if I'm willing to risk it and also the flight is more expensive when booked through VA compared to SQ.

Oh well, thanks again for your help :)
Even if they were going to accept your Tokyo boarding pass, the oneworld connecting rules are about connecting from long haul to short haul, or v.v.

While multiple connecting flights are fine, they need to follow the long to short or v.v.

I your case the flight ex SIN is long haul, so you’d be asking for long haul boarding pass (tokyo) to long haul (Australia).

Long to multiple short hauls is fine… I flew LHR-JFK in business and was then granted access at JFK prior to the flight to Washington and again in Washington for Chicago,

If you have a Diners card with the rewards package, there are several free lounges at Changi to choose from.

Hi all,

I'll be flying DXB - SIN in EK F getting in at 08:25 and then flying SIN - PER in QF Y (although I have put in for Classic Rewards Upgrade) 19:15. It's a long stopover time and it would be nice to have a lounge to relax in, at least for part of it! If my upgrade doesn't come through on QF (unlikely as I am a lowly Silver) will my EK flight status grant me any lounge access at all with either them or QF, or because my onward flight is Y only I can forget about it? TIA.

I can’t help with your question. However, EK do tend to release seats a week or 2 prior to flight. If you keep checking, you may be able to replace the DXB-SIN leg with DXB-PER F.

For example, EK F SIN-DXB-PER is available in a couple of days time.

QF lounge in SIN opens only in the afternoon so even if you have access, you'll still have time to enter the country for a few hours to have a look around...
