Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Hi all,

I'll be flying DXB - SIN in EK F getting in at 08:25 and then flying SIN - PER in QF Y (although I have put in for Classic Rewards Upgrade) 19:15. It's a long stopover time and it would be nice to have a lounge to relax in, at least for part of it! If my upgrade doesn't come through on QF (unlikely as I am a lowly Silver) will my EK flight status grant me any lounge access at all with either them or QF, or because my onward flight is Y only I can forget about it? TIA.

I don’t think you will have any lounge access at SIN.
For QF Lounge your departing flight must be in J or F and I don’t think EK has same day access to the lounge for arriving passengers.

That's the issue. It's not possible to get a VA (or any non-SQ number) attached to a KF award

If you are using the krisflyer miles to book a rewards ticket , you might not be able to change the ff number to velocity. However you can still use the benefits of VA gold when you show them your VA gold status at the lounge and they can update your boarding pass.

I had a krisflyer rewards booking and was able to get the VF number added at the lougne. However as it's a rewards booking , it doesn't add any points/status to your VFF profile even if you add the velocity number.

Yep that's fine, no redemptions earn points or status, just want to ensure we get priority check in and lounge. Alsthough I don't think there's a lounge for SQ we can use at VFF Gold in Amsterdam Schiphol.

Does this actually work though? Seems that some people have perhaps had to call SQ. I was kind of keen to grab the re of two seats at the back of the aeroplane at time of booking. I could check on the SQ site first ofcourse for availability but not sure how long the ticket would take in coming through via the VA booking. I would imagine the SQ PNR would be attached to that booking. Just nit sure if I'm willing to risk it and also the flight is more expensive when booked through VA compared to SQ.
VA uses SABRE, SQ used Amadeus.

The VA e-ticket PDF generally contains the SQ booking reference.

When I have made a Velocity award on SQ metal I have been able to use the Amadeus reference on the SQ website to select seating and, indeed, have subsequently travelled ln the selected seat.

I have transfered a General Complimentary Lounge invitation to my BIL who is travelling Qantas MEL-SYD- onwards to South America on one PRN. Can that Lounge invitation be only used once only the trip or does it allow use at Melb, and Sydney?

Can be used only once.
Either at MEL QANTAS Club or the SYD International Business lounge.

Anyone know if I will be access any lounge in Singapore if I have Qatar Platinum but flying on a Jetstar flight?

No you won’t unless you are on a JQ max business fare.
JQ are not part of One World
Just to put a finer tip on that point, ordinarily when flying JetStar you wouldn't have access to a lounge unless you are travelling on the aforementioned Business MAX bundle. However, there is a special carve out exclusively for Qantas Frequent Flyers with Gold status and above to access Qantas lounges when travelling JetStar, regardless of fare. To put an even finer point on things, you won't earn anything in terms of status credits or frequent flyer miles crediting to anything other than Qantas Frequent Flyer. Frankly that is the only reason I keep flying JetStar, as most of my Qantas Frequent Flyer points and status credits came from flights taken on JetStar Max/Plus bundles.

That being said, there are a number of lounges you can buy into in Singapore, a listing of which you can find here. Additionally, depending on the credit cards you hold, you may have lounge membership included. For instance, the AmEx Platinum card would give you access to 9 lounges at Changi:
  • 1 in terminal 4
  • 3 in terminal 3
  • 1 in terminal 2
  • 3 in terminal 1
  • 1 at the Jewel terminal

According to this itinerary, unless you have qantas club membership or are qantas gold or above, you will not have lounge access on arrival in Singapore or before departure of your long haul.
Just a little (late) correction - Qantas Club membership will not get you access in this instance, as your onwards flight is on BA with a BA flight number. You can only use QC when flying a QF or AA flight number.

Unsure if this is asked before but I can't seem to find an answer online so thought I'd check:

What is the lounge access policy for Qantas Gold members accessing Emirates lounges with regards to additional guests? Is it simply the QFF member that can get in or can they bring a colleague?
