I'm very happy with my travelpro. 25" platinum magna 2. The only spinner i have ever liked. Works on carpet too.

After looking for a large Hard case for weeks, tossing up Samsonite, Antler, American Tourister etc, I have given Delsey a run. I love the texture of the Hard Case and the organisation inside, the braked wheels is an interesting feature, plus the double zips for extra protection. I thrash suitcases, so let's see how this one goes.

Here's a link to the one I just got for $399:

82 CM 4 DOUBLE WHEELS TROLLEY CASE Delsey 001670821

I bought a Antler Cyberlite II 82cm Large Softside 4 Wheel Spinner Suitcase in November 2015 on sale from Luggage Direct. It was in my favourite colour PURPLE. I was happy with that case so bought another one same size in July 2016, but in Orange. So the purple case has been on a few long trips. So arriving home last month I noticed a hole at the base of the case where it joins onto the front of the case near the zipper. I could put my hand in to it !!! I rang the warranty provider in Brisbane to gauge how long repairs would take and over the phone said "Doesn't sound good - but I need to see it !" So yesterday I drove down to West End, he took one look at it and said "to hard to repair, you'll get a replacement " He gave me a voucher to take to Luggage Direct and now I have a brand new Antler Cyberlite in Mushroom ( really a greyish colour !) Lets hope it lasts longer than the first. But you can't be unhappy with their warranty ! :D

Anyone with experience travelling with a toddler and an infant have any luggage tips? It wasn't such an issue with 1 kid, but we're going to have to be smarter with 2 I suspect.

It's been a while since I've had a backpack when I was free and single travelling carry-on only (Lowe Alpine TRAVEL TREKKER CARRY ON 40L | Australia's Outdoor Clothing, Equipment & Adventure Store | Mainpeak), but I was thinking at least 1 check in bag and 1 carry on should be a back pack to keep hands free when needed.

Our allowance will be 3 x 7kg carry on and 3 x 20kg checked bags but using all that plus 2 kids seems a lot to wrangle through customs.

BillytheFish,

I have sent you a PM with some useful links.

I have a Cobb & Co Everest suitcase that was given as a replacement recently for damaged luggage that could not be repaired.

Used it yesterday first time. Set the lock with the pen and to test locked bag and jumbled combination. Could not open bag. Used the right combination and lock opens. Locked bag and jumbled combination again and set off for airport.

Got bag in KUL this morning and the combination I set yesterday does not work. Don't quite understand what's happened . I don't want to break lock. Apparently the only way is to go through each combination to try and open bag. Is it that easy? If so then it's a waste of time for anything other than a deterrent.

Any other ideas?

Does anyone have any particular thoughts on the Samsonite Octolite case? I'm tossing up between that and the American Tourister Bon Air Deluxe (both in 55cm cabin sizes) and I'm having trouble deciding which one.

I've got an octolite. First one broke (rubber foot broke) on the first trip. Myer replaced it (after much pushing from me). The replacement has been fine. They're clearly a step below the firelite/liteshock range, but at least half the price.

Just had an email from Luggage Direct that they are having a big sale. So have a look if you are after some luggage. I have bought stuff from them and they are quick and reliable with deliveries.

Luggage sale - Discount Luggage Deals | Luggage Direct

Hi all,

Heading over to the US in September and I'm looking at picking up some new luggage for my checked luggage. I'm looking at the Samsonite Firelite 75cm. Has anyone had any experience with this bag?

Ideally, I'm looking for a nice checked bag (that doesn't have to be massive, just to hold clothes etc) that will last me on international trips. I'm more then happy to drop a little more if it is going to get me a better quality bag. Any other suggestions would be appreciated!
