excellent, thanks for this. Was worried it would be stuck as their reward points only. Will look to apply after i've met the ANZ spend requirements, assuming it's still available.

edit: thanks for the quick response Dr Ralph

I should also confirm it's now 60,000 points for $99 (first year) for the black card, no mention of Platinum.
Credit Cards | Compare Macquarie's Competitive Range & Apply Online

No, check the details of the offering. It's '60,000 bonus Macquarie Reward points'

These are NOT QFF points.

The best QFF offering is 40,000 points for $99. Hence the threads title 'Macquarie 40k for 99' This IS the Macquarie Platinum card:

oh snap, thanks for that, was looking at the wrong cards. Platinum looks good 40,000 points only $2k spend

And from my experience (detailed earlier in this thread) they award the points quickly. Get in get the points and cancel straight away. I'd then move onto the current Jetstar offering of 40,000 points for $69 - $3000 spend within 60 days:

Jetstar Platinum MasterCard

But it will still cost you $99 for the annual card fee because they takethat out of the account immediately.

Otherwise was never suggested. Hence the title for the thread:
"Macquarie 40k for 99".

Has anyone successfully tried going Jetstar Platinum MasterCard >>>> Macquarie Platinum Card >>> Jetstar Platinum MasterCard and getting the bonus points?
I can't see that either offer is restricted to new customers.

Cheers
Craig

I've done this so far:

'Jetstar Platinum MasterCard >>>> Macquarie Platinum Card '

Intend to do the last leg once the points for the ANZ card post and I cancel that card.

Yep I've also successfully done that.
I'll give it a go and report back.

Cheers.

You have done well. I forgot that GE money sold the Woolworths Mastercard (which I have) business to Macquarie Bank. I applied for the Jetstar Card with bonus $40,000 points & was knocked back.

My VEDA score was 795 (Very Good), I'm still with the same employer & my wage has gone up, I have not applied for any credit/credit cards/loans for 4 years, have no history of bad debts, so it is difficult to understand why.

It sort of puts a bad taste in my mouth. I now look forward to leaving Macquarie Bank as soon as I can.

I've heard a number of times that Macquarie can be difficult with applications.

I've had at least 6 of their cards in the last 18 months. No knock backs - yet. I usually have each for less than 6 weeks.

how did you have to wait before you heard anything about the application? i had a confirmation email and that was it 1 week ago.

Pulled the trigger on this. Only went for the Platinum Qantas as I mostly want to pay my HECS off then use it as a personal card, and there's not much more benefit in the black except uncapped earning.

ATO payments no longer earn Qantas points from mid May and 1 for 1 points are capped at 2500 per month then if goes to 0.5 to 1
Another great enhancement.!!
