Crazy stuff.. my account page now says I'm getting a new card.. gee thanks .. nice to know whats happening...

Also..we always bpay the bill (In full ) .. the nice friendly website now says that bpay will not be available on line during the transition period unless you ring them.

or .........prhaps they are fishing for some suckers to miss the due date so they can bill them interest on the final balance x 30 days...

That Bpay refers to paying other bills by bpay - not the credit card bill. Once you get the new card its available again.

Thats exactly what I thought Pushka, but as I was about to pay my statement by BPay, I called to confirm. I turns out that YOU CANNOT PAY YOUR STATEMENT VIA BPAY. Apparently, making a payment to your card via BPay is blocked untill you receive the VISA card. They can remove the block while you make the bPayment, (while they wait on the phone) and then they reinstate the block!

Ahh, what fun! Apparently you will received an error code if you try to make the BPayment without the block lifted.

But I paid my account by bpay before I activated the new card.

My finance manager ( who doesn't look at websites) paid the monthly account today by bpay , she said it went through ok…..

It won't be a problem if you've activated your VISA. If you haven't, I'd be double checking it shows correctly.

my bpay still works fine. still with old card ... no new card activated. Something has been lost in translation above. Its only making bpay payments from online banking WITH the credit card that had to be done on the phone .

Yep. Thats what I posted. But others have said it impacts on paying off the credit card using Bpay eg from your savings account. Not my experience though.

I tried to Bpay the outstanding amount on my credit card last week. Money has gone from my bank account, but did not show up in my credit card page. I then saw the note that Bpay would be blocked until I activated my Visa card. It turned up today, I have activated it, so will look forward to see if my payment is now accepted.

And as I posted earlier it is taking a few days to show in the cc account and of which they are aware. They process it according yo the date you pay it and not the date it appears.

I haven't received my Visa card. I just want to make my March payment on this hopeless Woolies card and get rid of it. I'll give it a few more days to see if the Visa card shows up. Otherwise, I see it's possible to pay in person at any Woolworths or BigW with a debit card.

What a schemozzle.

My due date for payment for my Woolies EDRCC statement is today....my payment (in full) is made by direct debit (has always been) but I note that no money was withdrawn from my bank account to day. A colleague who also pays by direct debit received a call today regarding him not paying his credit card bill by the due date ...he also does direct debit and the money was not debited from his bank account last week. Anyone else facing similar issues?

Also, I'm yet to receive the new Visa card....

My direct debit was finally deducted from by bank account this evening...about to cancel card in next day or two. ..

Personally I think this sort of thing is worth a complaint to FOS if they were to charge a late fee or interest. They have to offer you as a customer the ability to pay your existing bill. Saying they will not accept this payment until you activate your new card is effectively trying to force you to accept new T&C's and personally I don't believe they are actually legally entitled to make that link.

I think this is more the poster's interpretation than reality, conflating the two BPAY matters together, but it was in fact the BPAY delays that they are encountering. There is no requirement to activate the new card to pay your bill by BPAY or any other method.

It is just delayed. I paid on Thursday 5th, called up yesterday (Monday) as payment had not shown, they confirmed back end it had been received. It shows up today in my online portal as being paid on the 5th.

I agree that any attempt to charge interest or fees would be met with a complaint.

I bpayed into my card yesterday. Funds are available in the available balance TODAY. its just not showing as an entry in the transactions yet

Maybe, I was relying on this statement actually being correct. I have no reason to believe he was lying.
