Macquarie Bank takes over from HSBC

I have the next year fee free. Rec'd my card today and have to activate it to get 10% off a shop. I won't be doing that, or any activation till I get preferably a 5,000 point offer. ;)

10% and 2000 points offered. How many others are holding out, I'm not sure. I don't use the card but got it fee free until October as my annual fee was charged just before the changeover.

My problem is that they are forcing these changes on us and then contradicting themselves, one minute saying you cant pay via Bpay online (it says it right when you log in into your account), saying you can Bpay via phone (couldn't find a way to do that after going around and around for 20 minutes in their phone system) and then being told I had to activate in order to pay.

This is once again confusion surrounding bpaying from a different bank to pay into your wow card and making a babpay payment from your wow internet banking to a different biller.

I actually ended up receiving 2 Visa cards from them. Another visa arrived a couple of weeks back stating that the first visa had an incorrect EDR number on the back of it.
So far I have activated neither so its a moot point really
I'm just waiting to get the last of my direct debits off it before the scissors come out.

Hmm - I just got a package today and was quite surprised to find inside a 'new' Woolworth Money VISA card .... totally wasn't expecting this. Had a read of the accompanying blurb and the card just doesn't seem interesting to me.

Whats confusing me though is that my 'old' Woolies Everyday rewards Mastercard appears to still be valid. On the front its expiry date is 2017 and it still works, I used it today. Soooooo.... what does it all mean? Is the older card just going to mysteriously stop working anytime soon? I'm inclined to not activate the new VISA, just put it in the top draw and leave it alone - keep using the older card which, presumably, will continue to be uncapped points wise, etc, etc.

The old card will stop working sometime in April (20th?). I'd suggest you wait for the bonus points email and then activate it. Make sure you have a list of all your direct debits when you do it becasue the old card will stop working straight away. The whole changeover is very messy and handled just as well as their weekly promotions.

The points capping takes effect from the march statement date regardless of whether you activate the card or not.

I just did a $10 test Bpay payment using the new Bpay reference number on my last statement. I'll see how long that takes.

The $10 test payment showed up the next day as 'pending'. At least I know that it works!

i made the payment via Bpay from my bank on Monday, money has not shown in my EDR CC account yet but the late fee has :(
I've rung them and they have agreed to remove the late fee.

I also paid my EDR MC in full via BPAY from my bank account on Monday (the due date), and noticed both a late payment fee and interest on purchase(s) upon logging in this morning. Before I had a chance to ring and complain (at home with a sick child today), Macquarie Card Services rang me to say my account was overdue! The phone rep said she couldn't see my payment, and that BPAY payments can take three business days to process (up until now payments have always shown up the next business day); interestingly, she could see that Macquarie had also on Monday processed a balance transfer (I applied for the HSBC Platinum Qantas Card as a replacement and took advantage of the 6 months interest free balance transfer offer), so agreed to instantly waive the late payment fee which obviously shouldn't have been charged. I will have to wait till Macquarie can see the BPAY payment for the interest charge to be waived - needless to say I'll be closely watching my account over the next few days and following up if the promised credits aren't forthcoming.

I've already changed most of my direct debits over to the HSBC card, and like a number of people on here, was going to wait to see if I get a better offer before I even think about activating the VISA (I've only got a text promising me 10% off my next woolies shop).

I have made 4 or 5 bpay payments from my bank to this card in the last 3 weeks, including one yesterday. I have not activated the new card. All payments were made from NAB internet banking to the same account number ive been using for years. On EVERY occasion, the funds have been available on the wow card the next day, however the transaction doesn't appear in online banking for 4 or 5 days however it is backdated to the date I made the payment.

I don't understand what your problem is.

Like you I have NOT activated the new VISA and I made a payment on Monday, and the funds still aren't available - this is the first time it's happened with the EDR card and I don't think it's a coincidence...

Anyone else still not got the new card?? With the t&c changes thinking that f canceling in any event plus a few bonuses around

I received the new card on Monday, with a 10% bonus offer.
No points offer to activate.

Received both an email and an SMS today reminding me to activate and reminding me I could get a 10% off shop.
I am waiting for a better offer.

Those that got their annual fee waived. Was your annual fee due now or later in the year?

Mine was coming out next month-April.

A year or so ago I made a bpay payment on the exact due date and it did not come through for three business days. This was the mastercard under HSBC.

On the second business day a late payment penalty and interest had been applied.

On the third business day, the payment had appeared (dated the actual BPay day) and the late payment penalty and interest applied the day before had been automatically reversed.

No new cards for me yet. But I was one of the last to receive the statement with the mention of the new changes, so not surprised I am at the end of the process. Receive an email offer of 10% off for activating before April 25th. No bonus points offer for activation yet.

Does anyone know if the old account number can still be used for BPay, or do you have to use the new account number?
Thanks to dede for testing the speed of the new account number.

Points for my last statement have credited. Will had to return their call and say thank you
