I got my Qantas Club passes today - they are International. It's very frustrating that they can't be used in Domestic as well - I doubt I'll be flying Qantas internationally this year. In my opinion they should be valid in domestic as well so you have a better chance of using them within the remaining 9 months of the year - these expire end of Dec 2013.

Better than nothing I suppose.

I received my passes this week after first spend on 2 January.

I am sure they are not restricted to international, but they did include international.

In fact I am sitting in the Qantas international lounge now but on an Admirals Club pass. I didn't know they had meals that they brought out to you.

It's all a bit confusing - mine clearly say on the back "invitations are not valid in Qantas Domestic Business Lounges..." but I'm (obviously) a long way from an Expert on Qantas Club!

Am I misunderstanding this?

What that means is they are not valid in the business class lounges domestically but they are valid for the normal Qantas club. For international flights the lowest lounge is the International Business Lounge. Mind you having just experienced it for the past couple of hours I have to say it is far above the domestic lounge.

Can you list the benefits over the domestic please, other than bringing the food to you?
Regards

Have to have qantas ticket(any international class?) to access?

Finally managed to access my Internet Banking account today, but there is no account information shown. Another call required I guess.
I also deposited via BPay biller code + CC number, so hopefully that will be credited.

Macquarie never ever got in touch with me nor did a credit check on me after I put in my application 3 months ago. Good thing I don't want this card anymore!

I guess the lounge passes can't be used at Heathrow T3 (BA operated)?
Looks like it's only HKG, HNL, NRT, SIN.

Got first statement and from my calculations they haven't included our spend at Safeway or 7/11 for the bonus 5ppd. They did count Coles and IGA.

Now to waste time calling them.

I've finally received my QP invitations, 11 weeks after getting the card. I was kind of hoping I'd get domestic-only ones since I'll be making SG before my next international flight, and I could have harassed them for international ones to get more.

My 5x points have been been correct so far, but I'm confused about Telstra from the thread here. Adding up what I should receive, I'm pretty sure I did get 5x points for them.

How did you pay your telstra bill?

How did you pay your telstra bill?
Via the pay bill link in the monthly statement email (for post-paid). I'll check my spreadsheet when I get home tomorrow, maybe I missed a payment for something else worth the same.

Thanks.. I'll trying paying my Telstra bill on it next time and see.

Absolutely stunned!
received a knock back for my application for the card after faxing my tax assessment for well into 6 figure income.
"information provided does not meet our credit criteria"
Any ideas where to go from here?

Received mine in the mail on Wednesday after they requested for a copy of my payslip. Called to activate and confirmed the 5ppts/$ for woolworths/coles, fuel and utilities. QP passes mailed in 60 days apparently, as said by others here. Will keep informed on the success of the bonus points. Probably will only keep this card for 6 months, no real need for it after that.

I know the feeling.

Got knocked back for the fee-free AMEX discovery.

Presumably it was patently obvious I have no real need for that card apart from the free bonus points.

In your case, probably they judged you don't even need the card.

What's worse is that my AMEX rejection letter stated "due to confidential issues, we cannot divulge the reasons for our decisions ..."

You can always write to them requesting a written explanation (search for Alan Machet upthread for address).

Good luck !

QP passes received within 6 weeks. Issue with points incorrect still ongoing (I am on hold to them at the moment) - two big spends for water and LPG not calculated.

edit-

Just been advised that Queensland Urban Utilites - is classified as a government charge so is not a Utility and also as my gas company ORIGIN is government owned (not sure on that) this is also a government charge so not subject to the 5 bonus points. On the phone trying to make a complaint before going to the FOS. If anyone needs to fax a complaint to Macquarie there fax number is 1300 658 695

second edit -
The complaints phone number is 02 8245 4388
I spoke to Andrew - it appears the officer transfering explained I had mentions I was faxing through a complaint so that I could escalate to FOS and possibly misleading advertising to the consummer watch dog (who we all know they are toothless!!). Anyway it now doesn't appear to be a problem to get my bonus points for my water and gas bill (telstra they still wouldnt touch but I only raised this to confirm the information contained on here). So waiting for my extra 2000 points.

I got knocked back recently for a lowly 28 degrees card even after advising them I only wanted to use it for my overseas trips. In pursuing the matter, they would not divulge the reason but did tell me my credit file information was not an issue having not checked it myself for a year or two.
Only thing that matters to them is your income and debt levels which your existing card limits are taken heavily into account even if you have zero balance on them. I stupidly told them the truth on my existing limits of $185K.
My wife's online application a week later gets automatically approved.

In just under 11 montsh time the credit report regime will change and Credit Providers will start reporting the limits on your accounts to Credit Bureaus, so in the near future you won't be able to "hide" existing debts. My advice would be that if you don't really need the limit on your cards you have you start asking these be reduced!
