I'm hoping they come up with something better to tell me, but I'm not holding my breath for it. I was planning to switch cards at the end of the year anyway (for more sign-up bonuses :) but will probably do it sooner now.

I just received a call back from them, the lady wasn't the easiest to understand (I couldn't pick her accent exactly, but I'd guess Sri Lankan or Filipino). They are going to give me 750 QFF points for the inconvenience, and said it "shouldn't happen again", however since it's obviously caused by their systems being cough and they've not doing to do anything about it, I'd say that is more of a "hopefully you don't complain about it again" response.

Since my year is almost up, there shouldn't be much opportunity for it to happen again since I'll just need to decide who has the best sign-up bonus on offer.

I haven't applied for this card yet but will do maybe next week. Last week I signed up to Vodafone, will this impact on my application?

A Credit Card application is the least of your problems if you signed up to Vodafone! :P

And no, to my knowledge it won't really affect anything as long as you are not already stretching yourself financially to get the card. It will just increase your liability/expenses by whatever your monthly repayment is.

Hahha thanks. It's actually for my wife. I have Optus myself but the Vodafone account is under my name as well. She is a very light user so I think Vodafone is ok for her :)

Hi All,

Does anyone know if the 2 complimentary QF club lounge passes are a one off or do they continue as long as you renew the card??

Thanks,
K.

I believe they are for your first year only, just like the 40k points. If you want to fine print of the card and haven't noticed it yet, click on "Further information on products and services featured on this page" at the bottom of the page here. Be careful with these passes though, I got approved for my card in October and when I received the passes in mid October, they had an expiry of Dec 2013. Not a lot of time to use them. Poor effort in my opinion.

Thanks for the info. I will probably cancel the card after the first year.

This might sound like a silly question, but are the 2x free QF club lounges transferable to a friend or family member?

Thanks Ashley. I called up today and the operator say it's only a once off for the QP passes??? I take it you have renewed this card and you got them every year ??

You get 2 passes every year

Sorry got confused with the HSBC card which is every year (not that I'll keep it for a second year)

Also got knocked back (as did my partner). Both on high incomes with no negative histories. Same thing happened to me with the JQ card a few years ago.

Good chance Mac are looking for possible non-payers

They are probably looking for low income customers! Earning under $100k.

Got knocked back :( Not sure why - earn plenty and no adverse credit history

Just wondering when they sent you the knock back letter if you guys got offered the Gold card as a substitute?

Nope - just a straight out reject letter.

For the record - my salary is over $100k so maybe k3nnis is right!

I'm under $100k so we'll see if I get approved. I should get the outcome next week.

Just a one sentence reject letter. Salary for me is well over 100k however partners is in the 60s but with an otherwise faultless history.
