So I can finally add some good news to this thread:

First purchase with the card was 15th of November and 20k bonus points hit the account on the 18th.

Anyone else got this lucky? I was expecting to have to wait for the first statement to pick up the sign-on bonus points but this is great :D.

Just received the card with a very nice limit.
Was painless to apply. Just asked for a payslip. I think all done within 2 weeks from online application (one of the easiest I have seen) to card receipt.
Activated the card and they confirmed the 40k points offer without me even having to ask.
All very well handled.
Could be a good card to 'protect' the Woolies card with the ATO payments.
The insurance is nice ... so who knows I may end up keeping it.

Same here. Credit limit is just inviting me to spend over my maximum. Its about a fifth of what I earn annually.

They asked for my tax assessment notice, was approved and sent card in under 2 weeks. Said qff points will be in account in 60 days and lounge passes in 6 weeks. So far so good. Now to make sure I spend $5,000 by Feb 2014, shouldnt be too hard.

No bonus points whatsoever here... might be time to call.

FWIW they said I was 'eligible' when I opened the account.

Same same......

first 20k bonus points due a couple of weeks ago (first purchase 12 Sep),no sign of them.
Called to chase them today.....agreed the points are now due, and have 'escalated'

Now Have my full 40000 bonus points credited. 20k just before statement issue each time.

'Escalated' is almost as worrisome as when something is 'enhanced' :)

Lounge passes arrived in the mail today - still at least a week before my first statement...

The more I read the luckier I think I've got with this.

Finally some good (I hope) news!

Called macquarie to chase up my 'escalation'. Summary:
- Activated card 1st Nov, opted into QFF rewards
- Spent $6k between 1st Nov and 10th Nov - my plan was always to do a hit and run with this card
- Received Macquarie rewards brochure on ~ 18 Nov
- Called to enquire about my rewards and was told I've earned some 7.5k macquarie rewards and only opted into QFF on 14/11 (bull****!)
- Escalated (twice)
- Called yesterday (25/11) to follow-up the escalation and was told that my escalation has been 'Approved' and the full ~46k points (6k earned, 20k + 20k) are headed my way within 2 business days

Now the waiting game. I'm not holding my breath...

Do Macquarie usually wave the fees for the 2nd year if you tell them you want to cancel?

I don't think this card is worth $200/year...

I don't think this card is worth $200/year...

Not from my or SWMBO's experience. In fact, no attempt was made to keep either of us.

Has anyone that has received the full 40k QFF points cancelled this card yet?

I escalated the issue on the phone last night as its been over 60 days since I fulfilled the criteria to receive the points. As soon as the 40k points hit my QFF account, I'm cancelling this card and applying for a fee-free for life Citibank - Signature.

I called to try to get my 40K points as well...have spent nearly 25000 on the card and no points apart from my 1 to 1 earn. I activated this card Sept 17th. Shocking really! Well over the 60days spend meet...and people have been getting their bonus points almost instantaneously!!?? There is a name for this called INCOMPETENCE

I applied for both this card and the citibank signature at the same time - provisionally approved for both - clearly have the same idea as you. Gift the passes to friends, take the points and cancel. :)

I think they will find a lot of people have this exact same plan!

Applied 10 days ago, phone call after two days requesting Income Tax Assessment.

Card arrived yesterday.

Now to spend $5k quickly
