I would give that one a miss - the Italy to Amman leg could put you into dicey airspace as well.

How did that work out for you? 🤣
Thanks for the tip

I did look up the daily flights that are running and there been flight paths adjustments to accommodate the on the ground fisticuffs between various parties.
Amman to Cairo is flown down Jordan directly into Egypt (dog legged so to speak)

Yes, that that goes close to Israel between Iran and Israel, and Iran is lobbing missiles into Israel from time to time.
yeah, I had originally thought Iran and Israel share a border up in the north but they don't

i'll need to research as to which parts of both countries incursions are beginning and over which countries the said missiles, drones are flapping their wings.

Currently I would recommend avoiding the airspace of
- Iran
- Iraq
- Syria
- Jordan
- Israel
- Lebanon
- and the northern part of Saudi Arabia (don't go north of an imaginary line running between Aqaba in Jordan to Kuwait

That may be sage advice, but it's worth pointing out that rules out EK or QR to Europe which are favouring routes over both Iraq and Iran.

OK they must have risk-assessed it as being safe to fly over that airspace again.

For QR at least, I have previously taken into account who their allies are in the region (ie Iran) when deciding an airline/routing. QR and Saudi, on the other hand ...

Alliances are subtly shifting around all over the place over there at the moment. If Israel keeps behaving like it is and America keeps vetoing things at the UNSC then it wouldn't surprise me in the least if all of the like minded thinkers from Indonesia to Iran all turn up on Israel's border one morning with about a million soldiers and some attitude that we are going to sort this cough out once and for all.

Hmmm. With the recent Rex fare sale I thought I was being so smart! Cancelled 2 VA return tickets and for the same price bought three and half return tickets on Rex!

Rang up to get my refund on VA ‘to the original form of payment’ (can’t refund to CC on line), only to find out, after cancellation, that half of it went back to travel-bank!!

Never again (after using up the vouchers). Also Rex meals are better both qualitatively and quantitatively if you factor out the utensils. Better than the Coles-slaw or the egg omelet they serve you at breakfast (yes taking J just for the privilege to eat omelets and pancakes).

The Plaza Premium was operating but my handful of credit cards didn’t get me in. We chose to suck it up and sit around for a change. Amazingly we survived. Now enjoying the F lounge at TBIT. Boring, but salt and pepper squid just now cured the damage.
I Survived The Plaza Premium:eek::eek:

I changed my VA flight for the first time (6 months out) and was hit with a $99 change fee. Previously it was free above 2 weeks I think? Read up on the policy and heard understood they implemented it for a few months now. Should of gone to specsavers🤣🤣
