I can try but I was told earlier in the week that 30 was the cap, and I have already begged for one extra spot. It is a very small restaurant and as this points we probably occupy most of their space.

Maybe we should start a wait list, in case anyone of the 31 people who have paid cannot make it.

Not a bad idea, however there were at least two other people on the "yes" list that didnt pay so, assuming they were still interested, would be on the list ahead of you.

20 days to go. I am getting a little excited.

To add a little festive spirit to the evening, we would like everyone to bring a small gift. A maximum value of $10 please.

They will be "distributed" during the night. And if you were at last year's event you will know the importance of not being the last one to dinner.

Salad of BBQ Octopus, local asparagus, shaved fennel, broad beans, citrus dressing
MAINS
Simply cooked Market fish of the day, borlotti beans, broad beans, cavatelli, crostacei butter
DESSERT
Flourless chocolate cake, white chocolate crumble, raspberry gelato

Staying at Mercure Welcome. Flights yet to be determined but most likely I'll be in on the morning of the 19th and out late on either the 20th or 21st.

Well, the French say you should arrive 15 minutes later than appointment time. This is meant to be a courtesy to the host, to make sure they have more than ample time to be ready for you.

However, if I were attending this event and arrived 15 minutes late without a compelling reason and a call-ahead, I think my head would be on the proverbial block (or platter).

Well amazingly I have been able to get Saturday 19th off work so shall attend on time. Family event during the day and AFF at night. All is well with the world.
