Obviously not read this persons previous post then.....

Great outcome for passengers in that QF made this as easy as possible and potentially saved a lot of time and angst.

Great outcome for Qantas in terms of PR. I wonder if Todd Sampson had some influence in how this played out?

I was reading with interest, wanting to comment but decided to give QF a chance to get it right before joining the lynch mob. Very good outcome for all the pax who booked and well done QF for doing the right thing in this case.
Didn't book the mistake fare myself but for this price I would definitely agree to suffer the 14 hours in Y.

" ..... I'm pleased to let you know that Qantas will honour the bookings in this case..... "

This is great news. I'm happy for those who took the plunge.

I had visions of a PR disaster with this.

Lucky for those that didn't rush in and cancel. :D

And there were a few Stage 3 posts as well without singling them out!

4. Kindergarten – Jealous, self-righteous trolls show up a few hours after the deal (their timing because of not having noticed the thread in time) and begin to pontificate upon the hacking, fraud, and all manner of illegal and immoral behavior that clearly had ensued, predicting with near certainty that anyone that booked the ticket would have their frequent flyer accounts shut down, be banned from flying, and be sent to Guantanamo. And if by some lucky break they weren’t, they wish they had!

We are up to stage 10
10. Jubilation – Everyone is jubilant. A few trolls show up to lament the sad state of affairs where airlines must honor advertised prices and face a downside to sloppiness, but most retreat to their caves and prepare fresh spins on old canards for the next mistake fare.
I'm waiting for the trolls :)

I'm not going to lie, I intermittently check AFF and OzBargain most days to see if something has popped up. I booked my honeymoon to FCO 3 days ago and so was not so keenly on the lookout for a day or two. Saw this yesterday arvo and prayed the fares were going to be cancelled so that I hadn't missed this gem.
I'm feeling very upset now... i could have saved ~$1800 for our honeymoon going by prices posted by others if i hadn't have booked 36 hours earlier.

I really hope that QF get some front page media hype for honouring this. I don't care to enter any of this "DOT enforces it or they dont cause it was a mistake" argument, but I think they could have canned them if they wanted and they've made the right call to honour them.

To get this right; You are upset that others got cheaper tickets than you???

Did you bother checking if your tickets were cancellable. If yes, you could have cancelled, paid a cancellation fee, booked these and come out on top.

No, I did not cancel. I received a cancellation notice from FlightNetwork after first receiving a confirmation.

Hi everyone, just an update following yesterday’s glitch where mistake fares were incorrectly offered for sale by some US based online travel agents.

Apologies for the confusion. The glitch was fixed at 11:30am AEST, however I'm pleased to let you know that Qantas will honour the bookings in this case.

Happy travels!

Thanks for the updates Red Roo really appreciate it......You are fun and you bring alot to the AFF party

What I was saying is I didn't check either of these sites during the day like I normally would and only checked after work last night by which time it was all wrapped up. And that an extra $1800 in my pocket would have made a great help towards the honeymoon fund.
