I wonder if the red roo's weighed in on this decision. Surely they would have been able to lay out a fair case on the online reaction, giving qantas good reason to really consider their options. In any case it's fantastic qantas are honoring these and I really hope(but won't hold my breath) that they get some kind of good media out of this.

Great news for all of us that took the plunge! Now to get planning on what to do for my two weeks in March...Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras...oh the possibilities!

Did they have J? And if so did anyone snag it?

They did , I posted about it up thread , for my dates it was $3780.

So around $1,500? Great value for excellent PE product, you've made a wise decision!

Those who snagged PE can do a Classic points upgrade request for J but those who bought cheap Y tickets can't do points upgrade requests to PE or J if they were booked in discounted fare buckets eg "O" class.

Not sure if there were people who paid cheap whY fare fares who ended up with a flexible (read upgradeable) fare bucket.

I'm happy the fares have been honoured and that families who may not otherwise have had the opportunity to holiday in the USA still can and don't have to tell their their kids "no deal."

I really hope that QF get some front page media hype for honouring this. I don't care to enter any of this "DOT enforces it or they dont cause it was a mistake" argument, but I think they could have canned them if they wanted and they've made the right call to honour them.

I wouldn't be so quick to discount the value of consumer protections. There were possibly many factors at play in reaching this decision.

Have just called the Plat line, exit rows seats confirmed on my flights (P1 benefit for free, save $720 for 2 pax) anyways no issues calling up :)

Happy to grab your details via private message. :)

Hi RedRoo, I had booked a flight using flight network and they sent me a confirmation And afterwards an email saying the quoted price was not valid, can anything be done about this?

From what I understand, some websites don't sell tickets in real time... they display fares which might have been 'stored' (or cached) which are then confirmed after you book. In those cases, your credit card won't have been charged.

That seems to be the issue with flight network from what I have read. If that is in fact the case... the fare you thought you purchased might not have been available at all. It's an issue you'd then have to take up with the company.

I think that might be stretching Red Roo's ability (or desire).
