Yup, Beers (425ml "Schooner" size plastic cups) are now $6.20. AFF members can head to the "Hayden Bunton" bar and get 285ml "Handles" for around $4.

Very strange considering their menu above says theirs a $5 surcharge on Sundays and public holidays. Strange that they don’t know what’s going on at their own restaurant too :p

No real issue regarding the day. One person was talking about ANZAC day and one was talking about the ANZAC day holiday when they are closed.

It does not look like anyone else is coming along.

Since we have 2 tables booked do you want to reduce the size of one of the tables booked straitman?

I wouldn't change anything just yet.

FT the world of stragglers, or is that the organizers trying to round up cattle, take your pick. ;)

No problem. Have you posted the details on Flyertalk?

No I haven't added anything to FT and not likely to.

I was more referring to FT/AFF interchangeable as the same group, but I was thinking back to Ozfests as trying to round up people.

I believe herding cats is the phrase of choice over there.

I was thinking that but will go with the suggestion of sitting on hands for a few days longer.

It can be done but persistance, patience and tolerance are needed.

Strike me off the list - other things have come up, I can't make it. Sorry :(

John,

I will have limited computer access tomorrow but agree that the one table is probably the go. Ring me tomorrow if you need to do so.

I shall give you a call tomorrow.

Perhaps we can have one table or still keep 2 tables and have ~6 people on each table. I shall leave the decision up to you....

I would be staying with the 2 tables with my experience of the M & W C

It's quite a tight fit in there, so a bit of room will be appreciated

Mr!

I'll stick with a $20+$5 special and have a 'local beer'.

What time does lunch start? (I can't get there until a little after 12pm - the footy match starts at 2:40pm)

Isn't the public holiday on Monday?

We did not have a choice. Lunch starts at 12:00 noon.

P.S What time do we need to leave the lunch venue to get to the game close to kickoff?

I think serfty posted the game starts at 1440. If all goes well 1400 would probably be ok, but perhaps 1345 to be sure, and be comfortably seated (beer in hand ) for kick-off (and possibly any pre-game Last Post and ANZAC recognition.

1) Short walk across the river to Flinders St - 5 mins
2) Tram No. 70 (goes past MCG on South side, near Tennis Centre), or No. 75 (goes past the MCG on the North side, near Hilton Hotel) - should take ~10-15 mins, and are scheduled very frequently from ~1345 onwards on Anzac day.
3) Walk from tram to MCG ~5 mins (bit longer from South)
4) Getting in...unsure what queues will be like.

Anzac day stuff happens at the 'G from around 2pm. Entry queues not too bad as completely reserved.

Any advice on how to get from Airport to lunch venue and not use a taxi?

I guess it is the skybus from airport to Flinders Street and then a tram to Southbank? Which one? Will it be more cost effective to purchase a day ticket for use on trams?
