Bryant Park is a firm favourite of mine. Just a lovely little oasis. The restaurant at the library end is very good.
Yes. We love Bryant Park too. We were there the day the Christmas markets were opened. And the skating. MrP was wearing a bright red woollen scarf. Apparently it’s a bit of a signal. He got some very interesting attention until I rescued him.

Well, UK people love my husbands accent but they think I’m one of them! I must remember to say GDay which is actually what I say here too. I don’t say mate though. We must speak very differently in SA, Queens English I guess.
As much as I would like it not to be, mate is just implanted into my language and is said without even thinking. So much so that my 2 year old now even uses it in his limited speech!!

So if SA is Queens English, then QLD has to be Yokel English?..??:p

Well I wouldn’t say that but, well....it’s the accent people recognise overseas as ostrayan.

I was exhausted at this point so left them to walk back to the hotel and rest. They continued to the Guggenheim. Unfortunately the spectacular central area was closed as they were dismantling an exhibition (and would take them until nearly the end of May to do so).

Monday saw a trip to the New York Google offices. They are down on 16th Street, so we took the subway. They have multiple buildings. The one we were in was 15 floors and took a whole city block. I felt we walked for hours! Master FM and gf both work for Google and their passes work for any office and they can bring guests in. New York is the second biggest office after Mountain view. I like the open campus feel at Mountain View, but this office had great views of the New York sky line and I liked the many ares where people could sit and work on their laptops in a casual environment. We were limited on what photos we could take.

A view of the skyline from the 14th floor where we sat and had coffee , after a full lunch downstairs - around 9 different restaurants here, as well as snack stations everywhere. The fridges have frosted glass on the bottom. The water bottles are visible in the top half and soft drinks hidden behind the frosty bit. Apparently it helps promote healthier choices

In the afternoon we went to see the new Avengers movie, after which I collapsed into bed with my takeaway soup, while the others went to Angelos on 57th street for pizza. Not pizza fans, but Angelos is really nice. Thin pastry and charcoal ovens. They make their own cheese, so it is very tasty without getting that greasy overload that pizza can have.

Master FM is choosing the restaurants - brunch was at a little takeaway place with a few bar stools - very nice toast and avocado. A bite before the show was at a Poke cafe. I haven’t come across this before - a bowl with a base of noodles, rice or quinoa and all sorts of things added - very tasty. Then Wicked. Girl friend hasn’t seen a musical before, but I think she is a convert. Voices were terrific - I think this is our 4th Wicked :)

While I was resting after brunch the others went to SoHo. Mr FM picked up the items at Desigual that the girls wanted and a hoodie for himself. Shopping can now be crossed off the list. :)

Shopping is never crossed off my list! I even enjoy poking around supermarkets in different counties. And I buy their shopping bags.
