Missing Credit Madness [Qantas refusing Credit for Travel on Partner/oneworld Airlines]

I have several QR flights coming up in my QF App but they are booked on 081 ticket numbers. Not sure if that makes a difference?

Yes, it would! Curious how much you can interact with those bookings? My upcoming codeshare (QR booking on IB) doesn’t allow seat selection. I have to go to IB to manage that (with same PNR).

I have no idea. My TA does my seat selection.
I have recently had QR codeshares on BA ticketed on 081 but when I tried to interact with that booking on QR it wiped a few things so I now don’t bother touching it.

It’s been a while for me but QF/EK could be a bit fickle like that.

QR / IB seem to stick to their swim lanes. Only let you mange their bits and not the others.

I had a QR booking on a VA ticket that showed in the QF app Sep 23. So was probably after that.

They were “showing” as recently as a week ago and then fell out. They’d been effectively non-functional in the QF app since at least Dec 23. ie they’d appear in trips but error out if you clicked through.

The QF website will only let you service QF flights (including other airline codeshares operated by QF), QF*EK, BA prime flights, QF*AA, QF*AY and I think that's about it.

The ability to service BA flights on the QF website is a hangover from pre-2013 days when QF/BA had the EU joint venture. The access was never removed/scaled back. Conversely, the BA website can manage QF flights for the same reason.

I currently have 2 live QR bookings (one is QR ticketed, the other was VA ticketed). Both were showing up in my QF app until the past week where they have now dropped off.

Similar situation... flights booked via QR for this Oct disappeared about a week back.

Also I flew QR SIN-DOH-MAD a couple of weeks back. The SIN-DOH leg credited to QFF no problem, but had to submit a manual claim for the DOH-MAD. All on same ticket number with QFF attached to it... not had that issue on similar itinerary previously

If you haven’t already, open them in the QR app as “Guest” (tap the screen to to get past the login box). They should stick as “My Trips” for easy access.

Was DOH-MAD the QR operated or IB operated?

I just flew MEL-DOH-MAD with the last sector being a QR codeshare operated by IB. I couldn’t actually select seats for this sector on either the QR or IB websites, however I was able to do so on Air Maroc, including in the first row/extra legroom (as a OWE). Also received points and status credits more or less immediately despite that sector technically not earning anything according to Partner Earning table.

Also showed up in my QF app (albeit just the individual sector details and seat numbers, wasn’t able to change/manage anything). Not sure what ticket stock it was booked on but very much doubt it was 081.

My upcoming trip (P Class Biz), I could select / change seats on the IB website / app. Although, right now it‘s not letting me access that…I’ll check again later.

Hmm, staying slightly OT. I don’t seemed to be able to view two future QR bookings on any of the usual suspect OW websites (eg rj.com), only QR website and app. The booking with an IB flight loads but won’t let me do much now (website and app).

I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s something to do with 2FA that QR have rolled out?

…and as an aside, I just noticed that I can book one trip for $1k cheaper than I paid 6mth ago…(and it was one of the best fares ex-CGK at the time!). 🙄

QR both legs

Just want to say I like the way you describe / present the situation in your post. It's a long post, but it reads very clearly, with all the important facts.

Have you try calling Qantas, pressing 2 at the menu at the beginning (Qantas club and frequent flyer membership enquiry etc... press 2). Asking because that's the venue that many (including myself) used this approach to fix one of many Green Tier issues (albeit, across multiple calls, until it got fixed).

Hope you won't give up on the SC (or the principle), whatever you do, keep us posted.
I did try the call center, who assured me that they would award the points "within 2 working days". That was 2 weeks ago! At my wit's end...

3 months and after lodging a draft Statement of Claim with Qantas' legal team, I received a call stating that QFF had determined the flights were, in fact, eligible.

No apology, no offer of compensation (not can I be bothered requesting). Basically Qantas fights right up to the point of imminent legal proceedings to do what they are obliged to do in the first place.

To say that I'm unimpressed would be an understatement.

Congratulations. Few persevere. It's a credit to you.

When you say you lodged a draft statement of claim with Qantas, was this something you put together yourself or was it part of a tribunal or court process?

I have a legal background, it was a draft of a Statement of a Claim, which is a standard form pleading for certain types of legal proceedings other than the usual consumer credit / tribunal proceedings (i.e. NCAT/VCAT and the likes that you read about here).

I am pretty horrified that it took going to these lengths just to get them to play by their own rule book.

How do you submit a "draft" statement of claim? Presumably it avoids filing fees.
