I just queried on their live chat whether I would be charged the $60 as shown on the "Billing Cycle" page, or if the fee would be waived as shown on the "My Discounts" page. Then suddenly the info on the "My Discounts" page disappeared! That is incredibly dodgy.

Checked my account and realised renewal is due tomorrow. My account stills shows Amex promotion annual fee waived in "My Discounts". I did live chat with customer service requesting cancellation. They wanted to know my reasons for cancelling and I said if the annual fee waiver is no longer valid, then I would like to cancel, so she cancelled it. Not even a hint of waiving the fee.

Waiting for the chase up about their direct debit failing... Only 10 days to go.

Does anyone have recent experience on how long they are taking to ship items after submitting a shipping request? They always used to do it in one day but the request I submitted on Thursday night is still pending. A cynical person might think they were waiting for my membership year to tick over.

Had shoes shipped last month and after confirming the cost of the shoes (they were purchased from Gilt and arrived with no visible invoice on the box) the order was processed within 24 hours.

Thursdays-Mondays always two days in my experience.

Recently they shipped a consolidated shipment and didn't include one package. I emailed them advising and requested the package missed be sent for free. Four emails later they have finally admitted their mistake but only offered to credit me the difference between the price for shipping the package and what it would have been if it was included earlier.

It would have been zero extra as dimensional weight far outweighed actual weight and the package leftover is small and would have fit in the box? Sometimes I wonder why I bother.

Had my latest 3 shipments consolidated, ship request sent yesterday afternoon, shipped overnight and fedex tracking working by early am.

Weight must be dimensional but actual total cost comes out less than my last 2 packages at a similar or lower weight, so I guess I can't complain too much.

I will have a look at my shipitto account to see what an equivalent package would cost through them.

For me the only reason to cancel will be loss of the 30% discount and annual fee cost. If they maintain the discount and waive the fee I will probably stay on. Have probably given them $400-500 in shipping since the start of the promotion so think they've done ok out of me.

The really frustrating thing with dealing with them over email is they seem to take 2 or 3 days to reply each time.

My experience this time:

Shipping request: Friday 11th prior to start of business
Fedex pickup: Thursday 17th (evening)

Previously with DHL it work normally take 4 days from that point. Fedex estimate it will be here tomorrow (7 days). It better be - they have had it in Singapore since Monday!

Next time I will try shipito.

My annual fee was waived again (on 16-Jul) - am I missing something?

I heard back from them 3 days after emailing. They've offered to waive the annual fee if I use the service so will keep it open for now.

Did it automatically get waived or did you interact with MyUS staff to enable the fee getting waived? For me, the My Discounts page still says that the annual fee is waived, but the My Billing Cycle page shows a recurring annual cost of $60.00, which I have never had to pay. My billing cycle ends in just over a month's time, so am curious as to whether I'll be charged the fee or not.

That's what was on my account. When I asked about which was correct, they deleted the discounts and then said they couldn't see any discounts on my account.

That was the same detail in my account, and I was charged the fee about 2 weeks ago. On emailing them to cancel the account and refund the fee I have been offered a fee waiver again for another year. I am still considering whether to do this, or just cancel, so haven't responded to them at this stage.

Thanks zig and StevePER, sounds like I'll have a similar experience. Did they continue the offer of 30% discount off shipping with the waiver? I have some packages in waiting so I'd best get them delivered and then cancel - I can't be bothered going toe-to-toe with them to get the waiver, especially if the discount no longer applies. I've only used MyUS twice in the 3 years I've had it, so I'm hardly going to miss it.

mick that's a good question. There was no mention in their email offer about whether the discount would continue. I might shoot them an email and ask.

I've decided that we are talking about different companies.

Shot them an email and the reply was within 24 hours confirming my free membership and discounted shipping, asking if they had done anything wrong/badly and how they could keep me as a customer.

Shipping on my last parcel was cheaper than 2 previous equivalent dimensional weight packages and was shipped within 12 hours of the request. Tracked and arrived in 4 working days too.

Maybe I managed a CL membership to these guys? Will still be using Shipitto next time I think, just to test the waters, but I can't really complain about the service.

By way of comparison, today I received a package via DHL (not via MyUS.com) that was shipped from the USA as a DHL Express shipment. It arrived in EXACTLY the same size box as my last shipment via MyUS.com. Today's package weighed 3.8lb and my last MyUS.com package weighed 2.8lb but was charged as 7lb volumetric weight.

Today's package was sent through Borderfree, which is how the retailer arrange their international shipping. I was charged a total of US$50.20, being US$37.70 shipping and US$12.50 handling. I expect the US$12.50 goes to Borderfree for their "service" and the US$37.50 goes to DHL for the shipping.

Last month's package via MyUS.com, with a supposed 30% discount and using their cheapest option of "MyUS trusted Courier" cost US$41.97 (US$59.96 before discount) for the shipping (plus US$12 I elected to pay for insurance).

So MyUS.com certainly does appear to be inflating the shipping price, and even with the 30% discount the shipping price is higher than what DHL charge for the same size package and heavier actual weight.

That's interesting NM. I'd thought their discount was meaningless too.

Good to know. They charged me an annual fee, but emailed straight away to apply a credit to the account for the same amount.

Have said I'd rather a refund, or a credit of 150% of the annual fee. If I have to argue the toss, I'll just close the account. I am not tied to them, and I even have a Shipitto credit.

Seems the requirement to maintain the discount is having used the service at least once in the renewal period... I last used them in Dec. 2013 hence my latest renewal was automatic, but previous year I had to request refund.
