Yes. And here's the catch. You don't get the Amex discount if you don't use dhl or FedEx. Fedex needs to have a value over $1,000 which opens you up to import duty and GSt which for many items negates the benefit from shopping overseas.

Any good alternatives as myus won't be getting any more of my business

You still get the discount for their 'trusted courier' network which is actually USPS, and at only a few dollars cheaper than the named couriers they'd be making a fair bit of margin on this method. What's wrong with DHL?

MyUS 'claim' DHL won't accept merchandise from multiple sellers in the one shipment. Seems a bit odd to me - why would DHL care?

That's the end of that then ... Some weird stuff going on these days with myUS.

The rot started setting in a little over a year ago ...

Cancelled a little over a year ago specially when their personal shoppers stopped buying at best buy.

I stopped around 9 months ago when they changed their shipping calculations. Made a huge difference. Plus they did a couple of extra handling charges I didn't agree with.

Their model of business clearly changed.

According to internet rumours, they were bought out several months ago. Makes sense...

Yup. I was thinking that was the case. Their customer service plummeted. Not helpful anymore but just out to make any charges they could. Even wrong ones.

I was previously a happy MyUS customer but now it's getting too difficult. They claim that they need the name and address of every seller to ship to Australia. I've ordered some stuff from Amazon, but because it comes from a third party supplier I need to find the supplier's address (which Amazon don't publish). Their online chat was extremely slow tonight and non-existent yesterday.
MyUS.com - Are there any special considerations when shipping to Australia?

Check the photo they've uploaded of the item. The same thing happened to me and the seller's name and address was literally printed on the package shipping label (in case of undeliverable). I informed them of this, and of course no apology just "we've reviewed the information you provided and the package can now be shipped". They seem to live off scripting.

They just responded to the email I sent two days ago saying they have updated the package info to say it's from Amazon. It really shouldn't be this difficult.

Just checked my renewal date with them and it is next week. I'm not going to renew, they're not worth the hassle anymore.

Thanks for the reminder - just flicked them an e-mail to cancel my membership which is up for renewal in 2 days time.

The service has definitely gone downhill. For the first time my shipping request hadn't been actioned within one working day.

Isn't renewal free? Why cancel, why not just leave it?

It was free but something happened last year made them changed and charged for it, so I kicked up a fuss, got it refunded but Amex made it pretty clear it's free for another year only. The fact I've only used it once last year suggest I probably don't need it at all...especially with eBay's global shipping program which ends up being cheaper altogether.

Yeah, I remember that fiasco. Good thing somebody posted about it here or else I would've missed it and copped the US$60 charge. Just checked my account again, and it seems that I had $0 charged for annual membership fee not 2 days ago, and didn't have to do anything this time around. Will keep monitoring it...

Annual fee up in early August, have a package sat there and need to get some more shipped in. I'll hurry up and order, consolidate the 2, ship them out and then see if they want to charge me. They do seem to be getting more expensive, that's for sure.

Just received a parcel from them - they sent FedEx priority as they wouldn't allow DHL due to new rules which came into effect after I requested they send it! Furthermore they said it was 17lbs and charged accordingly, yet the label says 12.4lbs and i just weighed package at 12.2. It's not dimensional weight either as its a standard small package

Definitely be the last I use them

I was charged a membership fee yesterday, so I have emailed them to cancel the account. Last year they waived the fee if I would keep the account open. If they offer it this year I don't think I will bother.
