NAB QF Rewards Signature card application questions

Data point:

Applied - 18 January
Showed ID at Branch - 19 January
Card approved - 20 January
Card received - 25 January
Completed $3000 worth of purchases - 25 January
Annual fee levied - 3 February
Statement date - 3 February
93,000 points hit Qantas account - 4 February
It took me 3 calls and 2 months after I did my minimum spend to get my NAB points into my account. Applied and Approved in Nov 21...met the spend in 2 days, points in my account sometime in Jan 2022. I was told it takes 3 billing cycle after you meet your spend criteria.
BTW....My Mrs cancelled her NAB card last year after 4 months of joining and getting her sign up bonus. She received this year (second) her 30,000 point even though she cancelled her card long before her anniversary was due. Furthermore, they refunded her the prorata annual fee. Very generous

I closed this account over 5 months ago with nothing owing, suspiciously today I got an email saying my statement was ready (despite having previously received a final statement), tried to call to find out if there has been fraud (since internet banking no longer works) and despite their IVR stating that hours were til 7pm, it would not connect me to a staff member despite only being 6:30pm.

Could it be that you got a CC refund (i.e. for a flight cancelled) and NAB is sending you the corresponding statment?

Not that Im aware of Amex is usually my card of choice for travel bookings as has the highest points earn and I barely used the card after bonus points awarded. Given it was opened in 2020 during lockdown, I didnt really book anything on it but will take a look at all the statements i do have to see if anything might be a candidate.

That said youd think the bank would be smart enough to realise I have no active accounts with them, such that there is no way to download the statement.

My gut tells me that someone has charged fraudulenty to a closed account, not that such a transaction should be permitted.

Gday

Funny you mention this because I also received the same email on 3rd February. I was worried for the same reasons as you. I closed it in June 2021. Found my details, logged onto the app and it says i have no accounts with them. Logged into the website on a PC and the credit card account is listed as 'closed or hidden' but sure enough there was a statement for January 2022. Zero opening balance, no usage, zero closing. Must be a bug with their software but if I get a statement next month I will call them and set the record straight as I am sitting out my 12 months before churning again and I don't want this resetting my closure date.

Pele.

Champagne Mile has an offer with 100k on 3k spend/$195 fee.

Good timing as I just rolled back into eligibility for this one. Applied, conditionally approved subject to uploading payslips.

I'm looking at applying for this which has the offer ending 15 September 2022, stating "you must apply for a new personal NAB Rewards Signature Card via The Champagne Mile before the offer is withdrawn, be approved, and spend $3,000 on everyday purchases within 60 days of opening your account."

As long as I apply before the 15th, I'm eligible even if it doesn't get approved until after right? That's my interpretation of the clause above and wanted to confirm that's right.

You've very selectively cut the term. The term needs to be read in context.

As it appears from your selective cutting/pasting, I can only interpret the term as you need to be approved by the 15th.

It would be helpful if you included the full term for a proper interpretation.

This one - cut it because I didn't want to spam too much text! Does that help?

Trying to see if it's worth bothering to apply so close to the end date.

The Champagne Mile Exclusive Offer

Offer commences 17 August 2022 and ends 15 September 2022. To be eligible for the 160,000 bonus points offer, you must apply for a new personal NAB Rewards Signature Card via The Champagne Mile before the offer is withdrawn, be approved, and spend $3,000 on everyday purchases within 60 days of opening your account. The term is poorly worded, but I believe that you should be fine if applying before Sept 15.

As always, keep screen shots of everything.

Well that has to be some kind of record…

Submitted application, given conditional approval and said “we may need to verify your details and will be in contact in 5-7 days”. 30 seconds later an approval text is received, 2 minutes later the card is activated in Apple Pay and then 3 mins later I use it at Woolworths!

Easiest 90k points for a while! Wonder if NAB will take over Citi’s processing…. That was a four day fight to get the Prestige card approved.

I hope so too. I applied on Tuesday for the Citi Prestige card and was told today...24 to 48 hrs I should hear a result

That’s the standard like. I got it a few times… eventually got onto someone and said “go fix it and I’ll wait on hold, don’t care if it takes an hour”. She says “ok well I’ll put you on hold for an hour” and disappears. Unsure if it was related, but approval text came while on hold (45 mins or so). I suspect that was just a fluke.

I got lucky last time with Citi, I never had to speak to them! Forgot just how awful they are.

Tried calling the Oz number just now and they connected me to a back office number. I was on hold more than an hour and gave up. I would have thought a premium card application, they would give higher priority. I guess no

I've also had same day access to a Westpac card via Google Pay, was very impressed. Didn't realise NAB had gone down that route also
