Oh well, about time I guess...

My last NAB card was cancelled in July 17. Phoned to enquire using my old NAB ID and ph p/w. They said no problems getting a new one now. It will be my 4th or 5th.

You mean like the screen shot? Not sure how else to get it in writing though. I usually just call them periodically to double check, esp if I have a hotline past the regular phone.

Talking generally rather than about NAB specifically, there are a couple of options:
  1. You can ask them to send you an email confirming the advice they have just given you; I admit such requests have mixed success;
  2. Use online chat (where available) and copy and paste the conversation before it disappears (some online chat services have the option of receiving a transcript);
  3. Send an email requesting the information.
My previous comment was just saying that if the promise doesn't hold you really have no where to go unless you have something in writing.

Good advice, JV, although if outgoing correspondence is checked by a third party prior to issue, the advice could then be corrected.

Phone conversations are often recorded. I sometimes make a note of who I spoke to, the date and approximate time, although I've never had to refer a business back to it. I would be interested to know how long voice recordings are retained for.

Yep, I always keep records of ph call or chats. Have discovered not to think that recordings will help. BWW denied that they even had a ‘Ben’ who told me a thing that subsequently 3 others denied. A supervisor finally said yes that person was here once, but he was still wrong, so we compromised on a 50-50 outcome.

Cancelled my card this week after finding out NAB have introduced the 12 month exclusion period. See you again in 12 months time NAB. Held this card for around 7 weeks in total.

I was told that it was OK. If they have misled me I will not activate it. They may baulk at my many NAB cards in the past 18 months, and 2 others since December. They've done the credit chk and await the outcome.
