So I called to order, should be easy right?

Me: Hello I’d like to order some luggage tags please.
QF: You should receive a new card every membership year and I can see one was sent to you already.
......
Me: Don’t need new card, I called to order luggage tags which I haven’t received in the last 3 membership years.
Sure QF, no problem. Sigh

My membership year ends 30 November so last year in late September I requested a new set of tags by email as the ones I have are the only set I have ever received and the rubber has now perished on both and they are no longer usable. My tags date from the initial issue.

So come early December I noticed I have not received my new membership card or replacement tags. It came to my attention because my Mastercard, on the reverse of my old card, would not work despite not expiring till 03/20. I spoke to the QFF service centre who advised me they could see the tags request and if I had not received anything (supposedly sent in late October) they would send me another card and new tags by express courier. My current card was locked because the first card was still "out there" and I can only have two on issue. OK - wait.

Nothing was received in the time frame they said it would take so on about 15 December I phoned again and was told my new card and tags were sent and I should have them. Told them nothing has arrived and was told they would NOT have been sent by Express so to wait a little longer. I waited and nothing arrived.

A few days later I phoned again and told them I needed my Mastercard as it is a debit card and I had no access to my foreign currency. They said they would dispatch another one ASAP. I followed up and it was dispatched on 24 December so no hope of getting it till early January. I eventually received it on about 9 January but no tags, just the renewal blurb and the QFF/Mastercard.

I called again to ask about the tags and was told they had already sent them twice so I could not have any more. I explained that I had checked my CCTV and nothing has been delivered from QF in between September 2019 and January 2020 and someone should be concerned with Aust Post if they were really being sent (which I doubted). They reluctantly said they would send replacement tags. 10 days later I received yet another QFF/ Mastercard - but no tags.

I gave up. All calls were through Manilla - I asked each time where they were located.
 
I tried twitter (hate calling people) and they just helpfully replied with “you need to contact your ff team”, not very helpful!

Try using the form at the bottom of the Qantas FF page - I ordered my replacement bag tags through that and it worked.

Me: I’m after new luggage tags, the ones you attach to your luggage not the membership card you keep in your wallet.

QF: We don’t send luggage tags every year, you need to call us for that.

Me: (pulling my hair out) I know that. This is why I called today!

QF: Ok no problem we’ll send you some new tags.

Sure QF, no problem. Sigh

Ordered mine without any issue. Connected to call centre within 2 minutes and placed order for 2 coasters without any problem. Now will wait for them to arrive. :D
What time did you call?
Might do the same but dread the call-wait time! 🙄🤔
 
Interesting stuff guys. I've only been bronze so no idea why I got one. It was when they first introduced them so perhaps that might be it.

Mine isn't damaged so I'll just keep using it and see.

I'm also bronze and have a set, but to be honest I don't particulalry like using them as the elastic loop is difficult to get around the width and thickness of either top or side handles. They tend not to sit flat and I have tried tucking them under the handles, but that interferes with me and probably the baggage handlers trying to grab hold of the bags whilst unloading.

Are you a Qantas club member? I might be mistaken but I vaguely remember QC members getting them.
 
does ordering a new set render the existing set useless? trying to work out if all 4 would work (I tend to misplace them after returning home from travels)
