I have received no emails the last few days advising me of updates to threads I am subscribed to. Anyone else experiencing this?

I've been receiving emails - although down significantly in volume until today. Assuming members have needed to get up speed with all the changes and activity should pick up as we all acclimatize to the new platform.

Regarding the email notifications you were expecting, where they previously set before the migration on Saturday or have they been set since the migration?

Yes, my notifications have failed until just now.

All boxes were ticked as they were supposed to be. It is possible it was a temporary glitch since I just received notification of your reply.

We'd prefer there were no glitches, even temporary.

I don't normally watch threads, but did this one, and have received email notifications of replies.

I would recommend un-watching previously watched threads under vBulletin and then re-watching them to perhaps refresh the system realising you are watching them.

One thing I found is that there are now seems to be two ways to 'subscribe' to a thread. One is to watch it and the other is to watch it with email notification. I found I had to unwatch then reselect watch thread and select email notification.

Hope that helps.

That is what I ended up doing (selecting watch with email notification) and it worked great. I have now unwatched though.

We heard you the first time. Repeating this same issue over and over is not pushing it to the top of the list. Our current focus is on the wiki, which has been down since we went live.

I suggest you turn the brightness up on your computer monitor because I have been using the new site on 3 different devices and have had no issues.

I'm going through the process of doing this but it is extremely tedious doing this on every forum where I have subscribed threads, I'll end up having to do the same thing over 100 times.

I'm sorry it has to be this way, it certainly wasn't our intention for this to happen, but I guess there were certain differences between vBulletin and Xenforo that didn't translate as nicely across.

P.s. Loving the signature, although the colours of the rainbow are more jarring on my eyes than anything else on the page :p

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm learning new ways to keep in touch with the information I want, so I'm attempting to go along with the changes as best I can.

If you have any way to retrieve my lost avatar, I promise to tone down the signature a bit.

I'm just heading to my GP, but how was your avatar set before? Was it a default AFF one or did you use a custom photo?
It was one of the default avatars available when I joined AFF. At some point it was removed from the default list but I was able to keep the version I had. The file must be in an archive somewhere. No rush. Hope the GP appointment runs smoothly. Due to security, privacy and technical restrictions on our network I can't connect a customer avatar.

A positive note.I have now I hope mastered those things I want to do.Some things are definitely easier such as photos and videos for me.Certainly nowhere near the problems of other sites I have followed.Only cosmetic things such as colour. And probably will get used to that.
Plus the guide-not all written in old fellas language.Didn't grow up in the computer age so just be a little kind to us.Sometimes we really just do not get it.
That said a big thanks to the mods.Sam seems to have had a huge input so kudos to him.Just remember sam we really aren't having a go at you.
But for my 15000 post a little tongue in cheek humour. The chorus is dedicated to all the mods + Admin and support-

Yes, but FT uses a heavily tailored version.

vBulletin is owned by "Internet Brands" as is FlyerTalk.

See here for a one site Admin's angst re vBulletin.

vBulletin review - how Internet Brands have killed off vBulletin

Thanks for the reminder. I was trying to think where I had come across a vB to XenForo migration before. I now remember the hooha when AVForums migrated to XenForo as I was (and still am although largely non-contributing) a member there.
