New AFF Website

Any tips for uploading photos? Many here seem to be uploading them from iPhones without issue but when I try even a single photo I get a too large file error :(

How big are the photos you are trying to upload.
From an early post by @samh004 the current limit is 5Mb (though I think it should be a lot lower).
The old website had a auto-compression engine that brought most photos to under 100k (to be honest all that is needed on a screen).

If they're too big. Try and resize them to a smaller size - say something like 640 wide.

Day 3 and I'm into a bit of a routine and feeling more comfortable. While I'm one who would like a few tweaks, I also think it's been a job well done. Three days of great patience and restraint from the Mods.

Just one question... who on earth would want to be a moderator?! :p
Well I am still learning the intricacies of the site and the changes to the moderation tools. We are discussing what features of the old site didn't transfer across as expected, and are prioritising them.

I am a little surprised at how well things have actually gone. :)

Last weekend Loyalty Lobby were due to go to a new platform and they had to abort it completely and try again later. :(

I personally think that the photos look much better with a higher limit. On my iPhone the colors are more viabrant and more interesting to look at.

I mentioned a few pages ago that Cruise Critic changed platforms a few weeks ago. It took weeks to get it sorted. And for the last three days it has broken again. It also doesn't have the features this one has and that site is a US one and heavily funded by advertisers.

I have received no emails the last few days advising me of updates to threads I am subscribed to. Anyone else experiencing this?

Indeed Cruise critic has been terrible.I haven't done a report on my last cruise as once again a change has meant I can't post pictures.I had only just learnt a new work around.

I've been receiving emails - although down significantly in volume until today. Assuming members have needed to get up speed with all the changes and activity should pick up as we all acclimatize to the new platform.

Can I suggest changing the colour of blank avatar background-color from rgb (30,115,190) to something like (50,50,50)? Given the amount of users with no avatar image, the amount of blue circles on a page can be quite jarring.

FYI (50,50,50) is about the colour of QF WP

I disagree. Photos uploaded of the FLounge Menu on the old website were impossible to read. The photos were compressed too much.

Am I imagining things or did the layout change briefly in the early hours of this morning. The new posts page appeared to have info on the right hand side of the page including two or three latest posts in more detail, and some of my profile info. I really liked that. :)

I take it back. It was the recent activity page......and I think that looks really good. :)

Also, where on earth is the contrast? There is just too much white everywhere and no definition to page elements.

Same. New update is a hopeless fail.

I have transferred your posts here (from the Amex thread) and alerted support so the correct action can be taken.

You should firstly check that your boxes on your Alert Preferences page have remained checked (as per example below).

May I also suggest that a quick browse of the User Guide is beneficial to ensure that your accounts are set up the way you want them.

The good thing here is that the change to posting photos is relatively minor and will not be changing again. Plus the photos now look a lot better.

That would give the impression we're all plats! :p

We'll take it under advisement, but I presume the blue was chosen to be consistent with our main colour scheme.

All boxes were ticked as they were supposed to be. It is possible it was a temporary glitch since I just received notification of your reply.
