Overall, I really like the new design. Was a Material Design theme chosen on purpose or is that a XenForo default? (I know its not 100% MD, but a lot seems to have been pinched)

It’s not default. A company that builds add-ons and themes played an essential part of the migration.

What I am doing a lot of is clicking into people's profile instead of that blue dot

You don't need to click on the blue dot. Click on the thread title and it should take you to latest.

If it doesn't, try Mark All Forums Read to reset things.

Ah. Usually that would take you to the first post so I haven't tried that. Thanks!

I'm not sure about that - it seems to take me to the last post of the thread, not the last 'unread'.

That's intriguing - it worked for me (clicking on the blue dot - took me to the last unread (as it says when you hover mouse pointer over the blue dot before clicking)

I have just started seeing adds, has something changed in the last 30-45 minutes?

Here is an odd one: I'm a Gold member (at least I think so!) but I saw this ad (screenshot below).

It only appears to be a single ad per page, but still there anyway. Viewed on Safari on latest iOS on iPhone 5. Doesn't appear if I use a desktop (i.e. wide viewport). Very strange.

It works too! Blue dot begone!

Well, clicking on the thread title takes me to the first post of the thread, like it used to. Blue dot takes me to the first unread thread, so Blue Dots rule for me.

Interesting.
Where I've read the thread and title is black - then first post page 1.

But where there is blue dot and thread title is blue it definitely takes me to unread posts.

I have marked all posts read a few times

Is the 'profile post' page what is being referred to as a 'wall'?

Yes, except we’ve had the feature since vBulletin. Members have been confused by its function before, so there’s nothing new there.

I appreciate you are doing great work on resolving unexpected issues and building the functionality, but saying continuing confusion is nothing new isn't that helpful. If 'the wall' was included in the new guide, it would have helped, if that was the intended description.

Can anyone explain what the function/use of 'profile page' posts are? Sort of what otherwise might be a private message that the sender wants everyone to see?

As for why you’d use it over a Conversation (PM) – I have no idea. I’ve never got behind it, but do have posts dating back a few years you’ll be able to see.

Yes, I've seen them ever since they were pointed out in the new guide. The comments above show its causing quite a bit of new 'confusion' so in retrospect maybe 'profile posts' may have been better kept buried?

Not trying to be bloody minded sam004, I do appreciate that its a largely thankless task to herd us cats into the new system, but keeping it simple and not introducing new terms unless mandated by the new platform would assist us slow-coaches and maybe even the vast majority of users.

I've examined the links for the blue dot and the title ... they are the same, linking to unread.

If no blue dot then First Post.

Sorry serfty ... was that meant for everybody, or just moa999? Quite incomprehensible to me.

Edit: thanks for correcting it :) Coriander below has a variant

I think he says he's examined the links and agrees with me.. the blue dot and blue text go to exactly the same place

Apologies. Trying to get the settings working properly. GOLD and SILVER members should never see any ads. Should be fixed now, but could be a few more "hiccups" in the next few hours. If the problem persists please PM me.
Seems to be fixed :)
