Fascinating story. Thank you for the link. I understand things better now. It sounds like some of the people who were working for vBulletin are now working for Xenforo which I think is a good sign for our new look forum. What version of vBulletin was AFF using before the migration? The version number will make more sense to me now that I've read the linked article. Before then it was just a number without a meaning for me personally.Yes, but FT uses a heavily tailored version.
vBulletin is owned by "Internet Brands" as is FlyerTalk.

vBulletin review - how Internet Brands have killed off vBulletin
Is Flyertalk still using vBulletin?
Just remember sam we really aren't having a go at you.
HTTPS! At long last!

They had no choice actually Google is restricting access to non HTTPS sites.HTTPS! At long last!
You should firstly check that your boxes on your Alert Preferences page have remained checked (as per example below).
We heard you the first time. Repeating this same issue over and over is not pushing it to the top of the list. Our current focus is on the wiki, which has been down since we went live.
I suggest you turn the brightness up on your computer monitor because I have been using the new site on 3 different devices and have had no issues.

It is my understanding that "yes" is the answer to both your questions - but I will be corrected by @support if I'm wrongI looked at that. Is that for 'alerts' as in the white flag at the top right of the screen/page, or does an 'alert' include e-mail advisements of new posts? I haven't been able to find the control that allows me to say a global yes/no to e-mail advisements of new posts to a thread. Can you help there?
At the risk of going slightly off topic (actually no risk, a certainty) the new website allows us to easily see that you have got more likes than posts. With respect, I suspect there is an age difference between Limewood and yourself, with Limewood the more senior. Suggesting to him to turn his brightness up is like saying to some old codger "turn your hearing aid up, mate!" when they say 'Pardon?'.
Besides, the oft-noted washed-out look to the new site, and the very faint presentation of quoted text will be made worse by turning the screen brightness up.
A bit more consideration for those of us over, say, 40 would be much appreciated. You'll be our age one day and may then appreciate what I am saying.

An impressive feat. Well done.
Ahem, as have I... - and ahead on percentage .
Wow Pushka. That looks great. Thanks.

My issue is the constant repeating of the same point. We have noted it and we are looking at options in the background, but there are other more pressing matters to deal with (like the wiki) and so that is where the priority is going.
Pressing matters..... Honestly, I couldn't care less about the Wiki. I never liked it when it was introduced on the old site. I would rather the legibility/contrast of the new site was fixed first.
It is all a matter of one's own priorities.
AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements
ah you rainbow girl you!
