New Amex statement credits

On the VPAY...apart from some HN stores where for future reference else can this be bought from? Depending on future promos it may prove useful.

Hmm, I guess I could use $300 Vpay (+$5.50 fee) to buy $315.79 in WISH e giftcards for $205.50. That'll be my groceries sorted for quite a while!

I think the answer is no. Betty did say 'initial transfer'.

What I'm doing is buying these:

https://store.colesprepaidcards.com.au/store/singleload

$300 at a time. Cost is $5. I know I can't get cash back from them, but that doesn't concern me. I'm happy to take $300 value for a price of $210.50. I've used these cards many times before and never had a problem - only slight difficulty is that they don't have a chip so no pay wave. If you want cash back from the deal go with this card:

https://store.colesprepaidcards.com.au/store/reloadable

So why not incur just one $5 fee and top up whatever you have bought to the vPay card?

From Ozbargain: Subsequent loads must be done via BPay (From Debit, Savings accounts) NOT a credit card nor a Prepaid VISA Card

I notice the Coles Finance T&Cs indicate that Pre-paid MC can be topped up from Visa or MC "Debit" card. The Visa GC is identified as a debit card - https://www.vpay.com.au/Home/About

Dont know. I don't hold that card.

Hi Dr Ralph. Do both the above Coles MC options earn 3PPD with AMEX Plat Edge?

Are you buying Vpay or VisaGC at HN using your Amex?
If so your deal with amex ends at HN. Converting your VPay or VisaGC to ColesMC earns no points.

I've been loading the Coles prepaid mastercards available under the flybuys deal in store via my AMEX.

$100 Coles Prepaid mastercards with $5 fee can be bought with Amex.

But Coles Reloadable Mastercard cannot be topped up/loaded with Amex...

Going to test out the method discussed on ozbargain.
Bought reloadable MC and a number of VPay from HN tonight. Coles CSR confirmed can be loaded with Visa 'debit' cards.
Wasn't allowed to load >$300 on the VPay. Apparently the terminal didn't allow it. Won't look a gift horse in the mouth. Will be great to consolidate them onto the one card as well as the Coles MC GCs I managed to buy last week. Will be a lot easier to use then if it works. Thanks to this thread for this good idea :)

VPAY is a pain as each and every card needs to be activated under separate email addresses... so if you buy say 5 cards you need 5 email addresses!

Google email trick.

You only need one email address.

Good offer! Booked Club Room at Langham MEL for $203 ($353 original rate) in two weeks. Going to cancel a Hilton stay to try this hotel for the first time.

I've booked a Saturday night in a few weeks for $600 incl breakfast.

Split across two cards will bring it down to $300 which is a good price for a Saturday night stay.

Thanks for the heads up. Can you re-use an email address after you've drained that card?

What's the Google email trick Dr Ralph? Assuming just set up as many email addresses as you need?
