New Amex statement credits

Thanks DrRalph, can these XS Gift cards be used to load a Coles RMC?

There are no Westfield centres in Tas (or the NT where I will be next week) so while it is a good deal, it is not quite as good for me as others.

They are just an eftpos card so you should just be able to use them like a preloaded visa etc.

Maybe best to use them as an eftpos at Woolies to buy one of their Visa cards to use to load your CRLMC with (assuming that's one that works as the Coles issued ones won't work as load source for CRLMC.

haha, westfield... I think some of us are still baned from last time.

Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere in this thread but search did not find anything of note.

I am down to booking the Advanced Purchase rate on the Langham website; anybody know if this will qualify or is it only available if paid on checkout.

I've booked a Saturday night in a few weeks for $600 incl breakfast.

Split across two cards will bring it down to $300 which is a good price for a Saturday night stay.

Will it work ? Buy group myer gift card ( from myer ), go to coles, buy westfield GC, pay with group myer gift card ( from myer ) ? self checkout for sure.

thanks

You need to buy the Westfield GC with an Amex from Westfield direct to get the statement credit.

Wouldnt get the westfield credit if (a)you bought it at Coles(b) bought with GC rather than Amex

Only if the self checkout is a non upgraded version. I've been to some which the self checkout doesnt allow gift card to be paid with gift card.

It should do. Online bookings qualify for the credit according to the T&Cs.

1 transaction or separate transactions for each $100 card?

3 x $104.95 (3 $100 cards).

There were multiple people lined up with multiple Amex cards. After a month of battling split transactions during shop small, I just took the $10 loss and got 3 cards.

I think what is confounding me is this text:

Qualifying Purchases include accommodation, food and beverages and other incidentals during your stay which are paid at the hotel front desk at the time of check-out.

IIRC posts up thread indicate that booking your prepaid room directly with the hotel over the phone works, as they process through the same terminal used on check out.

I used the Apple Pay with it as well for bonus credit. Half the shops don't take Amex so using the gift cards to pay for them. 4x$100 cards.

At Colorado and it has a Spend $150 and get $50 back. Combine with the Amex spend $100 and get $25 back, it's a 50% discount. Even better, they have sales on at the moment.

As the Myer offer is valid in store as well as online, I could not go past 23.33% off $150 Coles Myer Gift Cards. Cards purchased and emails received.
